It’s really sad to see what bowl games have become. Between guys opting for the NFL draft and now transfer portal guys. We aren’t seeing the team that got them a winning record and invite to the bowl game.

Kentucky, has lost 12 guys to portal and 3 more to NFL draft. I’m not sure who from Kentucky wants to buy a $350 ticket to see a team without most of its best players not suiting up. Long term, I don’t know how some of these bowl games survive.

Exactly. Many of these bowls will fold in a year of two. TV and advertisers are not going to continue to pay to support the current system. The product on the field is inferior without top players or mostly full team. Clemson's defense can't be as good as it was two weeks ago w/o Trotter, Wiggins, etc. So a bowl is getting a materially different team, not due to injuries! Bowls are about making money, but the teams do not always make out well. Most of it goes to the conference to be split amongst its members.

This could eventually lead to a playoff similar to FCS. The TV ratings would be much higher with "meaningful" games. It would be similar to March Madness. I don't see how the bowls can survive and really can't see how college football survives without changes.
