Context:
Daycare closed about an hour ago...we're getting some "freezing rain" on top of all the snow. Shit's about to get even worse round here, so I went up to get the dawghater2girls, wife made a run to Costco.
Roads, at the time, were still ok and weren't bad, but on the way home I started sliding around and what not in the truck.
Story:
Told wife to take the main roads, and texted my neighbor (who takes the same backroads home from his office that I was on) to be a little more careful b/c I think it's gonna get slippery fast.
Also said to make sure your wife gets home (his wife and my wife were working out together) and to holler if you need my truck or anything (he's a dentist, both drive Benz's).
He text me 1:46 PM: Yeah dude, my wife can't drive on a sunny and 72 kind of day. Told her ### to get home and be careful.
I get a phone call at, I #### you not, 1:53 PM from neighbor: Dude, you're not going to believe this. Wife is in a ditch
I'm all like:
Bout that time my wife pulls in. Said hey, watch dawghater2girls (put them both to sleep) and unload costco run, gotta go pull neighbor wife out of the ditch.
She goes zzzzzzomg she just called me!! the roads are so slippery.
I had her pulled out by the time neighbor got there. It was an all hands on deck b/c she had their two kids in the car (20 months and 6 months)
Friggin women man.
cheers, stay warm bros

in the middle of downtown. Was pouring buckets and around 2pm the rain changed to snow. Snowed buckets and by 3:30 the roads were covered. So 100% of every business in downtown sent 100% of their people home between 3:30 and 4pm, in blinding snow on horrible roads. Place was GRIDLOCK.
Now I'm driving a 1994 Chevy Camaro Z28 convertible. Rear wheel drive. Low car. I'm trying to figure out how to get home without some idiot hitting me or waiting in traffic forever. I took every back road I could find. I was driving through the hood, and some rough areas, in the snow. I stayed off the main streets which were all gridlock. Got home in less than 30 minutes. Takes almost 20 normally to get to work.
I remember sitting at a light and some guy to my left was driving a 4wd truck. He took off, gunned it, and was spinning. I gently applied the gas and drive off just as he was sliding off into a ditch. People in Columbia CAN NOT drive in the snow.
Next day the secretary who lived in Chapin said it took her 4 HOURS to get home. Cars were running out of gas all over the place, if they weren't stuck in ditches.
Anyway my Clemson snow driving experience paid off. Since then, if it snows, I take back roads to stay away from the morons on the main roads.

Remember that day well! I wuz in a class at SC Fire Academy way up on the northside up Monticello Rd. About an hour after lunch I looked out and it was starting to stick on the grass. Next it was sticking in the parking lot. I jumped up and said, "See ya'll suckas". Just did make it up the big, shady hill before the I-20. Enough traffic on the highway to keep the snow from sticking in the tire tracks and got my ayz to home. Lots of people that waited another 15 minutes didn't quite make it.

weather in Nashville. I think he still lives over here in Floyd, VA, prob booking a Friday night close to home. Here, not so bad. Supposed to fall apart coming over the mountains tonight last I heard.
He doesn't look like George Clooney. Seen him do this a couple times with Allison Kraus Union Station.
