He's beaten a ranked Auburn team twice, FSU, VT twice and LSU. That's 6.
He's lost to SC twice and WVU. That's 3.
So he wins twice as many as he loses.

I would figure the uga fan would look up some stats before posting such a question...
Looking at the schedules and rankings from the past few years (According to ESPN) Tajh is 5-4 and Aaron is 4-10 vs top 25 competition. If my math is correct, the average ranking of top 25 opponents are 12.55 for Clemson and 11.93 for UGA. Average ranking of opponents in top 25 wins is 12.40 for Clemson and 15.25 for UGA.

Of those losses, Tajh isn't responsible for all, either

Our defense was severely lacking for his two years.

In both games Tajh played well enough to win but in both games the D crumbled.

The offense had some problems, but a few stops would have drastically changed the outcome of that game. Couldn't get them off the field.
But again, coulda shoulda woulda.

Yes, but Tajh did not play that well in both of those games
Jul 16, 2013, 1:04 PM
|

In both he felt pressure that wasn't there and if you go back and watch you can see that he walked into a few of the Clowney sacks himself. Morris didn't help by not putting a TE or RB on that side but a lot of times Tajh got happy feet and pulled down to run instead of continuing through his checks.

And our OL has been very marginal since he has been at Clemson. Last season we began to see improvement in the OL, and I expect this year's OL to be the best we've had in a long time, but still not where we want it. Give Tahj some time, and he and Chad will eat you alive with all the skill we have, IMO.

Because in big games Tajh normally plays very well

At least well enough to win the game. Rarely have we looked back on a big game and said that we lost because Tajh didn't play well.

Officially, Boyd is 6-4 as a starter
Jul 16, 2013, 1:05 PM
|
|
Wins: Auburn 2011 FSU 2011 Virginia Tech 2011 ACC Championship 2011 Auburn 2012 (ranked #25 by USA Today Poll) Chick-fil-A Bowl 2012
Losses: South Carolina 2011 West Virginia 2011 FSU 2012 South Carolina 2012
And yet everyone says he folds against ranked competition. Too bad the actual statistics can't back up their opinions.

Both offenses are explosive. Defense will decide this game

And in that I believe we have a clear advantage purely because of returning experience and depth at all positions.

A better way to look at it....

How many games against Top 25 teams has Boyd cost us with lousy play?
Now, how many has Murry cost the Dawgs?
I honestly don't know the answer for y'all, but I can't think of a Top 25 loss we can hang on Boyd.

Well, Rev., I can name two--both in November after Turkey Day! The Sat. after Thanksgiving, Tajh doesn't seem to play his best, and appears to get confused about which color jersey to throw to.

You can't make good decisions when your O-line won't let you

Of course, the one exception to this is the LSU game. A game where I think Boyd finally decided "look I know my line sucks against good competition, so I'm gonna start doing all the work myself."

The Tigers played a great game against LSU, no doubt about that. They played the kind of physical, kick-butt ball that I had hoped to see for a long time coming. I also thought that the Clemson coaches outsmarted, out-gameplanned, and made better game decisions and adjustments than the LSU coaches in all three areas of the game. However, I believe it was just the opposite against SC, coaching-wise, and has been for the past four years.
