We need to upgrade our DB coaches with the best in the coaching world. Ours have become stale in coaching but also in recruiting. Our present DBs are being beaten consistently in the first five to ten yards of a route. And they must be having a lot of question marks and confusion going on in their heads to miss so badly so many times against Duke. As a DB You can not have any questions, you have got to be "100% go" on every play. You can have a fast guy in a hundred but is still slow in reaction time and technique. Before you sign a guy you have got to know their reaction time and intellect. Slow brains and slow reactions don't make good DBs. On the last play of the game I was screaming to my family, "cover the flat, they are going to throw to a back in the flat cause we can not cover it with our LBs." Our coaches should have known that all game. No one covered him of course and he walked in for two and that was the game.

The worst can sometimes bring about needed change. That’s my take on this season, and hopefully that needed change starts today. Everyone needs to be held accountable, and everyone needs to shoulder the blame. You can bet there will be coaching changes at the end of the season, because Dabo is seeing for himself that professionals need to be coached by professionals. My guess is that Conn, Spiller, and a couple others will be replaced at season’s end. It will be an interesting offseason for the Clemson Football team.

Overall responsibility for the Defense is on the Defensive Coach... So many blown secondary schemes and chunk plays have been allowed this year... Looks like the D line did stop the run against Duke, but the secondary really gave this game away!!! I haven't really liked the T. Allen hire and don't think these kids are motivated and want to play for him! too many busted plays, soft coverages, something just isn't right here.
Dabo needs to take a hard look at the D side of the Coaching and make tough decisions.
There's 11 Coaches out there looking for jobs now, I'm sure he could find a few of these guys that might want to take a secondary D Coaching jobs or Positions Coaches, ect...

I could only imagine what would have happened if Nicky Saban stood in front of the Bama' Nation and said, Man, we're just having a bad year, It happens from time to time!!
If anyone was watching the LSU AD's quotes, He said we expect to win the CFP every year, or will be playing to win it and will be in every conversation on ESPN's discussion's about going to win, ect.. That's the attitude Clemson needs to take on to get back in the mix.. Otherwise they'll continue to be a doormat.

That look is when you do not know what to do , how to do it, how it happened or what needs to happen.
Barber shops, slides, putting greens, bowling lanes, slogans, pals on payroll and the whole champions of life thing ship has sailed.
IF, big if, the head coach wants to be a champion in professional NCAA football better adapt to the professional model with professional people and treat your players like professionals.
Going down a slide and playing putt putt is not going to get the job done. In recruiting. In retention.
In winning.

Well said. Clemson probably has a money issue in this new pay for play and nil structure. Dabo tried to create a retention oriented model in part due to money and in part due to Dabo’ s. Approach to talent acquisition and development. As a result, we see weak and inconsistent performance in all areas and depth/talent issues every week. Last years defense was weak and has gotten worse! That’s recruiting talent and coaching it up. He’ll, the citadel rushed for 300 yards against us. The defense couldn’t stop running qbs either! The signs have been there all along.

Clemson won big for the past decade by recruiting big and overwhelming other ACC teams with much more talent, strong QB/WR play on Offense, and Brent Venables and great talent on Defense.
The lack of portal use to build position competition & player depth, and the loss of Venables have had major impacts. The inflow of inexperienced coaches just added fuel to the fire.

Dabo created a country club bubble for his players. The "culture" is that players have limited contact with the student body or campus. 50 years ago I was in a class where 3 football players never attended class. They showed up one day to give a presentation on what it was like to be a football player. Better known as "easy A".

Dabo grew up poor and is scrappy. He lost the edge with success and money. Dabo got the big head and became pompous. IF pompous Dabo can reconnect with scrappy Dabo and rediscover his roots, he absolutely can turn this thing around. Keep in mind this is going to have to the ruthless form of Dabo which I do not know he is capable of rediscovering. He will be given another year to fix the mess that he created. We will find out after the chicken game which direction he is going to go.
