Look up admiral flatly. He’s a local guy that flew b25s off the flight deck of old smaller carriers. The had to be full steam ahead into the wind. The nuts it must have taken to do that for the first time is unfathomable

than testing experimental medications. It takes a lot of bravery for a person like myself to test an unproven medication before it is allowed to go to market.

back in the 50's i was a polio pioneer(still have the card to prove it.).took a series of 3 shots of the very first salk vaccine for polio.administred by a doc in school.hated having the needles,but we got the day off from school work while we were there.i certainly didn't volunteer.my parents signed me up.not sure what that might signify.
