Biggest threat to SEC/Big Ten

Oct 3, 2022, 7:43 PM

It’s our Clemson Tigers. ESPN and all those who work for it are pushed to promote those conferences because that’s where the $ is at. The only thing that’s been standing in the way of teams like Alabama, Georgia and Ohio State is Clemson—it’s been that way in the CFP era. They hate Clemson cause we are an obstacle.

You did see where Clemson will be the ABC Night game

Wake was national TV as well. Through FSU

5 of the 7 games are national games, 4 in prime time. And no telling where Syracuse may land

Actually, you could argue ESPN is promoting us to increase our profile and get the SEC or Big Ten to take us. Then the ESPN could dump that loser contract they have with the ACC.

They were rumored to being "in on"

the Texas/Oklahoma and UCLA/USC moves. LOL

The "loser contract" they have with the ACC??

Oct 3, 2022, 8:11 PM [ in reply to Re: Biggest threat to SEC/Big Ten ]

Ha...they're probably making more off the ACC contract than the one with the SEC, considering how little they are paying the ACC!

No one in TV hates Clemson….

Oct 3, 2022, 8:28 PM

TV is driven by ratings.

Clemson historically provides very high viewership thus high ratings. The proof is in number of prime time appearances on network (i.e. ABC) rather than lower tier vehicles.

Network executives love Clemson because viewers tune in.

The talking heads are just that, talking heads. Listen to them at your on peril.

Clemson is a “victim “ (sarcasm)

They never get a fair shot in the playoffs.
