Is overall team speed. We got talent in most position groups but the majority of them don’t have great or elite speed. If you want to know what elite team speed looks like watch last night’s LSU / Texas A&M game. TAM totally embarrassed LSU in the other Death Valley. All of them could run on both sides of the ball. TAM looks like the elite of the SEC and as good as Ohio State.

Woodaz might be one of the slowest LB's--if not THE slowest LB---in a P4 program. That's saying something. I also think another thing we are missing is length at the corner positions (though Hampton seems to be playing better as of late).

It's not just speed, it's strength is well. In every game both lines get absolutely pushed around. How many times has an opposing ball carrier gained +5 AFTER the hit. We look like high schoolers playing pros. Until that can get fixed this season's struggles will continue.

I agree with you, but would add a lack of fundamentals - feet, hands positions, angle of attack, and the ability to make a tackle. The more I have observed this season, the more blame I assign to the players. Either it is a lack of talent or lack of desire to be the best they can be. Probably, a combination of both!

You're not kidding about how good ATM looks.
Mike Elko, who coached Duke a couple of years ago when they whipped us, has ATM looking like the best team in the SEC in just his second seaon there.

There is no comparison to the talent on the field in that game vs our overall talent. Plus the effort was superior to ours.

We are bad on both sides of the LOS. That’s where most games are won and lost. Get all the skill you want but if the lines cannot do their job then it’s null. If you can’t put any pressure on the QB and stop the run you normally lose. If you cannot protect your QB and establish a run game you normally lose. We have neither.
That’s are team in a nutshell. We have gotten beaten on both sides DL/OL in every game but BC and UNC, and those 2 are just bad.

Big difference in overall athleticism between us and better teams. Size, speed, football IQ, attitude, etc.
We have a lot to try and fix and none of it looks short term.
