Big test against the yardbirds

This might have been said before: but the yardbirds have the 8th hardest schedule (at least according to On3 which is probably slightly less biased than ESPN but I digress).
Before the season, I think we all expected the chickens to need a miracle in November to have the slightest chance at a Trip to the New Jersey Car Wash for the Poor bowl.
Obviously, they have exceeded expectations and legitimately will be our second toughest opponent this season.
They’ve “cocked” up a few close games and almost “chickened” out of beating Missouri… but a W is a W And a L is a L.
That being said, unlike some of y’all I don’t follow them / really keep tabs on them. I know Sellers is a solid player when healthy and can help them run.
My questions for you: how good is their defense? How do we beat them?
(Aside from scoring more points…)

I think if Parker and Woods are healthy we take it to them on defense and can shut the run down. But “if” on that piece.

Where are we going to get any points? We did not get many last year when their defense was only 40% of this year’s defense. Their fill In with portal players has really upgraded their team. Not sure I would want to be their coach next year having 37 seniors due yo portal additions

They are big, fast, and violent all over the field. And more importantly, they play with hunger like Clemson used to. I honestly don't see how anyone looks at Clemson's offense (& FG situation) currently & sees a bunch of points being put up on that defense of the chickens.
And defensively, CU has shown itself to be poor tacklers and soft. Not a good thing ever but especially when their O is physical with a decent RB. I'd love to be wrong, but I'm just not seeing why some on here act as if CU is a lock to win this game.

I agree 100%. SCjr will play violent and physical. We don’t have that, and that’s what will make the difference in this game.
We saw the same thing vs Louisville. They were physical, and we couldn’t/wouldn’t match it. I remember one play where they hit and roughed up Cade after the play (not the out of bounds one where they blocked him from getting back to the field), and I was expecting a scuffle to result, but nothing. No retribution. We’re soft.

We need to run the football on them, a healthy Mafah is much needed...Him and Klub need to run well over 150 yards combined. I see them get beat a lot off tackle with speed backs or jet sweeps. Unfortunately speed is something we lack, maybe Williams gets a few sweeps or Wesco. Their DEs love to be aggressive and go way outside the pocket....so there will be holes there if we hit it right. We also have to take our shots and let our WRs make plays down the field. I believe in our Defense, as long as the offense isn't sticking them back on the field every 2 mins. Be nice to have Woods and Capehart both in the middle for that one too.

Totally - aside from CK2s big run against Pitt the run was basically non-existent.
If I'm them I am stacking the box and daring us to throw.

Beating them 100% depends on the health of our team. If we can shore up the right side of our line, Cade will be fine. If We have our defensive line intact, I think we can hold them under 24 points. We’re good enough to put 28-35 points on their defense at home. If we were playing at the Roach, I would not be so optimistic. I think something like 31-21 will be the final. There is an*, if we’re still as banged up as we were at Pitt, we will probably lose by seven to ten

Defense is extremely Legit. Mezzo was a bad matchup for them with one stretch play and their two NFL ready OTs. They're going to be a problem against our OL, healthy or not.
Offense: Earlier in the year I wasn't worried. But Sellers and the Offense (OL and Running game) have seemingly begun to gel and definitely improved steadily.
Special Teams: Their FG Kicker Stinks. Rest of their special teams are above average which is expected from a Beamer led team.
Consensus: Anything can happen in a rivalry game. We have home field. I still think SCAR wins by 7-10 points. More if we fall apart and are not healthy.
