Big games in week 1, why?

I dont get the upside for playing ranked versus ranked in week 1. The past years we are never ready week 1 to compete, yet we book top 10 opponents, no upside. At least it’s early and only first game, so we can still recover….. im just tired of the past labor days weekend losses…… uggggg

I agree. Don't know why we keep doing it. We lose most games while most other teams play mediocre opponents. It puts us in a hole and we do it on national TV.

For the money that we then spend on coaches instead of players. That model has to be retired. The money has to be on the field if you want to win. Not on the sidelines. Not in the booth. Not on fancy buildings.
