Things Clemson and FSU have in common.

1. Obviously, both want out of the ACC and have sued the ACC in order to get as as quickly and cheaply as possible.
But, I am also thinking about the 2024 season for football.
1. Both have question marks over how good the QB will be. 2. Both have question marks over how good the OL will be.
I am of this opinion about FSU (and exactly the same opinion about Clemson).
Barring injuries, which nobody can predict, the real question is the OL.
The QB will be as good as the OL allows him to be. He probably won't be a Heisman candidate or one of the top 3 QBs picked in the draft, but if the OL is great, he will be plenty good enough to get the team to Charlotte. If the OL struggles (either run blocking or pass pro) then the QB will look very average.
Now, with that said, I would prefer to have Cade as my QB. I think his upside is higher than DJ's is. If FSU and Clemson OL are essentially equal, then FSU defense will have to be better than the Clemson defense to win the game. If the defenses are equal, as well as the OL's are equal, then I give the edge to Cade over DJ.

1. Can the FSU OL be good enough to protect DJ? 2. Can the FSU OL be good enough in run blocking to prevent the Clemson DL from just teeing off and coming after DJ? 3. Can FSU run the ball well enough to stay out of 2nd and 9 or 3rd and 7?
And, the same questions could be asked of the Clemson OL.

Worthless fan base who thinks we are better than everyone else and deserve more money...Clemson has proven a little of that with our record over the last ten years...FSU sucks...they could not beat the girl scout team for a while and could not pick corches...Novella came from a school where he bought players and nobody cared...except Arkansas once in a while...FSU is a collection of duds...we've had lots of issues with Novella...forgotten by the money changers...all of you wannabees remember this legacy you desire for Clemson, you and Bret can't have both!

And for once, I don't think FSU had to even go to the Transfer Portal to get them, they have always had some fine looking foxxes.

I would say the best one is they are both going to be in the SEC.

Probably, but I am going to have a difficult time getting over my dislike of the SUC. My phone even autocorrects "SEC" to "SUC", because I've typed it so many times. We'll have to see what the future holds. Go Tigers!!!

Don't get carried away dissing the SEC...everyone on this site wants us to be just like them...Frank Broyles got mad at the SWC bottling SMU, Rice, TCU and Baylor...so he wanted out...proclaimed that to Royal at SWC annual get together...that actually killed the SWC ( good reason for exit fee) Arkansas ain't done anything since then...AD Broyles really helped those HOGS...they went from a powerhouse in the SWC to nothing in the SEC...what a deal! Do we really want to become the next Arkansas!

It will be tougher stepping up to the big league, but I look forward to more interesting and challenging regular season schedules.

I really believe one or both will end up in the B1G. Seems they would want southern exposure and SC and FLA already have teams in the SEC, but that’s just me reading. Just seems more of what I have read leans this way vs us in the SEC. In the end who knows.

Coaching. Chris Rix was at least as good his freshman year as he was his senior year. He never improved. His QB coach was the guy who replaced Mark Richt (as QB coach, not as OC). Last name was Dickey, not related to Doug Dickey.
Let's just say he was horrible.
Hopefully, DJ will get far better coaching than Rix got.

For a Dawg, Bret's OP was a batting practice see-how-far-you-can-hit-this-one pitch I couldn't pass up.

I assure you UGA will have to have its best day and we have a horrible day for uga to beat us.
Dabo will have the team ready, it will be up to them to execute the plan.
We will run the ball this time as opposed to the 10-3 game where DJ gifted y’all one. We never ran the ball at all in that game as Kirby said.

That’s kinda the way I see it. I think you have one advantage over us. Norvell has used the portal extremely well bolstering his recruiting big time. He’s added quality “senior leadership” at crucial positions. We have unproven freshman to fill our gaps. Sure, they may develop into studs. Your portal guys are proven dudes. DJ is definitely a huge question mark. He has elite moments (impossible throws that look easy) followed by missing the easiest throw in the game. He also tends to stare down open receivers until someone covers them and tries to force it in late. Who knows, though? Everything could click and he’s a Heisman candidate. I also agree Cade has a better chance to make that growth than DJ.

I put no effort into following DJ last year. I wished him well, but my impression is that he really didn't produce any more out west than he did with us.
And this is a tangent: Why on the world is FSU going to make him their starter? Maybe Dabo and Streeter couldn't get his best out of him, but after several seasons and two schools why is FSU willing to take the bet others have lost with? I just don't see the sense in it.

In my opinion that is a very astute post. I could not agree more. The OL must improve, if it does, it will be like rising tide to float the ship.
