Win or lose , he was not healthy to the schemes of Tiger football.
And, hang me if you will, but Bryan Bresee never lived up to his potential.

You're 100% spot on. I obviously give Bryan a pass, because he dealt with more than 99.9% of college kids, hell, any kids will in their lives. I really wish he had at least 2 full healthy years to just be a college kid and play football though. Excited to see him in the NFL. He certainly didn't have the numbers I expected though.

Bresee didn’t live up to expectations, but after everything he went through I’m impressed he could even finish playing. I’m pulling for his pro career like I’ve never pulled for one of our guys before.
DJ I’m neutral to. He was what he was. And it wasn’t good. He just didn’t have the mental strength needed at this level. I think he’ll come out hot at OSU and talk himself up like he did at the beginning of last year. You could tell the poor guy never really believed it.

Same. Kind of like with Cole Stoudt (who I just looked up and didn't realize he is on Clemson's staff). He was what he was. It's more on the coaches for not putting someone else sooner.

Bresee was double teamed from day one and still caused havoc. If you can't see past his lack of stats to understand the impact he had on the rest of the defense, then maybe you don't understand football.
He paved the way for others to make easy tackles and there isn't a linebacker or defensive end that has played the game that wouldn't want him on their team.

No one said he sucked. We said he didn't live up to his potential, which he didn't. His physical tools and playing style had the potential to disrupt every play, and his freshmen year didn't look much different to his junior year, despite more snaps.
Whats the deal though? You make one small criticism and it's like people get so defensive of a player it's crazy. I loved Bresee and wish him well. Saying he didn't live up to his full potentially isn't unfair. It's objectively true.

Nuance, people. Of course we all know his situation. I'm not even blaming him for anything. I think he's an incredible young man. It's not a personal insult towards him. I think he would say the same exact thing if you asked him. If asked, do you think you reached your full potential? Or do you think you ever had the opportunity to reach your full potential? He would say no. Thats not his fault. That's what it is though. Geez.
