Let's be honest with ourselves

If Lamar Jackson was starting for us next year we would be thrilled and complaining if he wasn't a heisman contender. He should be a contender because he put on one Hell of a show. Watson put on one last year and lost to a senior. This year DW4 wins it and all of this is just hype. Before Jackson leaves Louisville they will be an 11 win season, playing for an NC and he will be the pick for Heisman.

If Lamar does not win it this year I do not think he ever will. Teams will figure him out next year. They have started to this year. He doesn't have that it factor like DW. He is amazing and has a great will to win but he is too hot headed.

And look how wrong they were. To deny he has a ton of talent, is young and won't improve significantly is to have your head in the sand.

He is a sophomore this year not a freshman. Who is denying he has a ton of talent? I said he is amazing and his passing with improve. To think teams will not learn how to play against him is to have your head in the sand. He will most likely win it this year so I do not believe he wins it again his junior or senior year. I am not saying he will not be better as a player but he will not put up better stats and I do not see them winning 11 games next year.

Then he should never win it.
As you stated he has been figured out. We had him figured out and if offensive holding was called correctly he would not have had the second half he did against us. Heck, Marshall had him figured out but also had a terrible ref situation with a targeting call, which got their best defensive player kicked out of the game and they did not have the depth to stop the Cards after that.
Play him, not the RB on the read option. and dare him to be a real QB.
And, how careless he has been with the football while running only adds to more of him not being as sold. Good but careless runner is it for him, which, imo, does not equal a Heisman winning QB.

DW has just as many turnovers as Jackson. Does that mean you don't think DW deserves to win the Heisman?

Fumbles or fumbles/ints?
At least 5 of Watson's ints are on the receivers, tipped/uncaught balls and wrong routes (Watson throws to where they are supposed to be beforehand).

Turnovers are turnovers whether they're fumbles or ints. I'm sure some of Jackson's ints were off his receivers hands also, that happens with every qb.

Dabo would t put up with that kind of attitude and he would learn to behave. He is a product of his environment and Petrino so I give him a pass there. Most if not all of our players would act that way if Dabo let it go on.

This is total BS! I like plenty of great players on other teams. I think Jabril Peppers of Michigan is a great player and appears to be great person. Another one is Christian McCaffrey at Stanford. I could go on but I think I made my point. Lamar Jackson is a really good player with some amazing running ability but I do not believe he is in the same class as either of the players I just mentioned. He is very lucky he plays for a coach who wants to run up his stats against weaker opponents, like poor old Charlotte. Can you imagine DW4's stats if we had played Charlotte and Dabo left him in for the entire game with the starters? Give me a break!!!

Idk if he is attacking it or not but I am not attacking. I just said I do not like it and would not like him on our team. He can do what he wants to at Louisville and that is fine with me. If you like the way he carries himself on the football field more power to you. I do think he has been very respectful during interviews and has been more classy than I would have thought. He just needs to learn to calm down sometimes during games.

I remember seeing players on our sidelines laughing it up during games we lost. Not being phased by it at all. 2013 FSU, 2013 USuC and 2014 UGA. I would hope our players pout a bit during and immediately after a loss. Fuel to get better.

He just has a hot head and lets things get to him to easily. I am so thankful we have somebody like DW who stays calm and collected. That is Lamar's personality though and it may help him be better I think it is just much better for your team and yourself to stay calm is tough situations. He did handle the pressure very well against us though. To comeback and perform in the second half of our game after the adversity in the first was impressive.

I see a player who wants to win and is a leader on his team. I think he plays with passion and intensity. Overall I've been impressed with him. I think people are overly critical of him because of his success. I've even seen fans compare him to Jameis Winston, which is ridiculous. Lamar seems like a good kid to me.

I think Jameis is a good kid. I am not overly critical of Lamar. You don't think he has a hot headed temper? He and Jameis seem nothing alike to me. I think Lamar is a good kid as well and passion is great to have. To act like he does not have some growing up to do though is crazy to me.

His numbers are crazy. He has over 3000 pass yards and 1500 rush yards. And I see some people say they padded Stats, but they really didn't. The cuse game I know for a fact he only played a little in 4th. He didn't play after halftime against Charlotte. As much as I want Watson to win, I don't mind seeing Jackson win. I don't need a trophy to validate my quarterback. And if he does lose I will probably help him in the playoffs once we win tonight. He will play with a different kind of edge.

Where to start? He is whiny and does not respond well at all to any adversity. Didn't you see the way he acted after Boulware tackled him around the neck. I actually believe he had a right to be upset but his reaction was way over the top and it affected his game. Another problem example is him taking a Heisman pose after scoring a TD in the Kentucky loss, which many pundits say may have cost him winning the Heisman Trophy. He doesn't represent his university well and we don't recruit players like that.

While I don't have a problem with the pose thank you. That incident with Boulware was just ridiculous and he should have been thrown out of the game for the reaction he had and taking his helmet off. It was just childish. He is an amazing player but has some growing up to do for sure.

Is it really different than Watson doing the Dab, Superman, or bow and arrow?
His getting mad at Boulware wasn't his best moment, but he came back and had a heck of a second half.
I just don't see any reason to criticize him.

This is not very likely. Jackson will not have anywhere near the supporting cast he has enjoyed this year. They are loaded with seniors and juniors and will have major personnel losses to replace. The other problem is that other than the FSU blowout, they don't have many quality wins, just quality losses and Jackson built up most of his stats against really weak opponents. Plus, as the season progressed and opposing defenses started focusing on stopping him, his stats went way down. Early in the year, people were projecting him to have more than 75 TD's! Where did that go?

I am considering (Humbly I might add) that Clemson may not have enough offense to outscore them and FSU doesn't seem to be the leader in the Atlantic either if Somehow we can't fill DW4's shoes. Then if they win the ACC they in fact will be considered for the Playoffs

I think Zerrick will come along nicely. He will have growing pains and by no means will we be as good without DW for atleast a couple of games. That being said our D should be solid and I expect our O to keep rolling. We are going to have to run the ball well to open up the passing and make it a little bit easier on Cooper or Bryant

I do think they have a great DC and a dang good secondary. They just are not deep enough to win it all. I do think they are more than just Lamar Jackson. They did play us very well and it was not just Lamar Jackson that was making plays. That being said I do believe we hurt ourselves in that game more than they hurt us. That Alexander kid is amazing on D though. I think they have a really good RB too but their O line needs help for sure.

It's hard for people to be honest with their selves on here.... It really is. They rather be critics of LJ attitude than respect him for his ability. Do I believe Watson can win the Heisman tonight with a big time performance? Yes, but right now LJ deserves the trophy.
