He might just say yes. He would be a good fit for UF.
As for Napier, he is a good coach and has grown tremendously since his days at Clemson. I think he would be a good addition to our staff if he was willing. He could be like a Jeff Scott type recruiter/WR/QB coach.

OMG! Good addition? His offense was disgusting. He would be good for a Marshall, App St, Charlotte, he is not Top P5 material or he wouldn't have skipped around and floundering now. He has the money at Florida if he was gonna excel.

He must be. I am amazed that places like UF and Tennessee can recruit at that high level when that have done nothing but fail year end and year out

Yeah, you knew they were in for a tough ride with what most sources considered the hardest schedule in the country. That means you HAVE to win the toss-ups. Miami and A&M are by no means easy opponents, but Florida had them both at home, and those are the types of games you'd expect Florida to at least keep close. And again, with that schedule, those are the ones they needed to win if they wanted to come out of this with a decent record. But they got trounced in both.
Looking at the rest of their schedule, here's what I figure: @ Mississippi State win UCF win @ Tennessee loss Kentucky toss-up @ Georgia loss @ Texas loss LSU toss-up Ole Miss loss @ FSU win
I see 5-7 as the probable ceiling here, with 4-8 perhaps more likely, and 3-7 not out of the question. Maybe if they beat both Kentucky and LSU they could go 6-6, but that's assuming they don't screw up anywhere else and I don't think we've seen any evidence to suggest we should be banking on that. So yeah, I think it's gonna be a tough ask for Napier to save his job at this point.

I will agree with FSU and Mississippi State as wins, UCF is a toss up. The rest are losses unless they find some offense.

Fair enough. My main rational was not confidence in Florida but rather a lack of trust in those other teams. I think the version of Kentucky that played Georgia yesterday would beat the Gators. I think last week's Kentucky that got smoked at home by the coots could easily lose to Florida. So the question we have to ask is which Kentucky is gonna show up? LSU has looked pretty suspect themselves, losing to LSU, having a lot of trouble with Nichols, and then just barely surviving against the coots. So really for me when it comes to Florida, Kentucky, and LSU, it's a question of who stinks the worst on that particular day. But to your point, I wouldn't be surprised if they lost both of those games, and I wouldn't be shocked if UCF got 'em too, though I don't think the Knights are any good this year either.

UCF is 3-0 and just erased a 28-7 halftime deficit on the road @ TCU.
Florida will NOT beat UCF. I honestly don’t think it will be close. Florida is bad… very very bad.
Without a doubt the worst Florida team in my lifetime and I’m 35.

Oh, ok. I didn't realize that. I hadn't heard any mention of them yet this year, so I just assumed they weren't gonna be much of a threat, but I guess I'm wrong. That could be a fun game to watch.

Wondering what you mean by being a bad fit? By most any metric he should be a good fit. The only problem is he is losing like the last five ish coaches they hired. Either Napier is not a good HC for a P5 school or there is something wrong at UF.

For the '77 Gator Bowl, I stayed with my father's 1st cousin. His father in law guaranteed the loan for the first Gator Bowl plus he was a former Florida legislator and had knew some of Florida's big donors. He told us then that Doug Dickey would be gone the next year but it didn't matter who the coach was the Florida donors ran the program. Charlie Pell should have talked to him before taking the Florida job. I doubt anything has changed in Gainesville.

The state of Florida is a hotbed for playmakers.
My first thought on the season both UF and FSU are having is that it is a prime opportunity for Dabo and company to canvas that state to build quality depth at WR and RB with some 5* guys that might have been leaning towards staying in state Miami will get their share but they can't get them all.
