from their starting QB going down, but if you watched their game after the frosh came in, he actually picked up their offense. If Wes allows him to have time, he is going to be a problem for us. Hopefully we rattle him and get him to throw us the ball a a couple or three times. It will be hard to cover that 20 unless the defense chips in with some points, I think. Therefore, I am?

I agree. If we come out rushing 4 and get no pressure we are setting him up for success. Brent ate up young QBs because he never allowed them to get comfortable in the pocket. Blitzes from everywhere were the norm. Hope we follow that pattern.

The learning process along with developing younger players which Dabo hold so dear and has historically worked is why I agree. We'll see.
I believe Dabo, just as he did against App State, will pull our starters and rotate in those backups who have proven in their behavior and their efforts to work hard toward getting playing time will be rewarded. That alone should duplicate past seasons in which we had great success.
Unfortunately, DJ never became what Cade has already proven to be and we suffered greatly. Cade didn't help Dabo with those endeavors last season very much.
Imo, and possibly yours, we will return to those days when we sweated bullets right up to the end of just about every game until Scar showed up on the other side of the field. We'd waltz through the ACCCCG and make a good showing in the PO.

I'm saying something like 24-13. 20+ points is a lot in this rivalry and Clemson has only had 6 20+ point wins against conference foes since Trevor left. The App State game was good for our confidence but I don't think we can sit back and act like we're juggernauts again on offense. Who knows what NC State's offense looks like but Doeren will have the defense ready to go.

I wouldn't say you are wrong but I think there are some things going for us that could help us cover. First, we have had 2 weeks to prepare and 2 weeks to get a little healthier. Second, their QB2, a true freshman, will be making his first start and we will put a ton of pressure on him. If we can keep him from beating us with his legs, I think we can stifle their offense. Concepcion seems a little banged up and he is their biggest threat so that helps.
I think our offense is coming into the game with a lot of confidence. If the OL can hold their own, open up some holes for Mafah, and protect Cade, we could have another productive day on offense.
Assuming we don't turn the ball over and beat ourselves, I'm getting a little more comfortable that we might cover.
