BBQ help- best place to eat

Oct 5, 2017, 12:14 PM

In Greenville. Preferably near downtown. Any recommendations?

there's a Red Lobster on Wade Hampton. It's about 7 minutes from downtown.

I highly recommend Smoke on the Water. Their brisket is top notch and their sauces are incredible. The smoke stack and loaded potato cake are my favorite sides. Talking about it makes me want to go there right now.

Mac's speed shop. Maybe not traditional, or exactly what you're looking for, but the beer and smoked wings... Yum.

Mac's Speed Shop is a good casual place, Smoke on the Water is a little more high end I feel like. Both are good, but it's worth the drive to a Smokin' Pig.

Mike and Jeff's is a hole in the wall and not to awful far from downtown. Worth it if you have time. Its the best in Greenville

Henry's Smokehouse is a close second and very near downtown.

In downtown the best is Sticky Fingers.

What do you want to put on your barbecue? Hot dogs?

Oct 5, 2017, 12:23 PM

Sausages? Burgers? Portabella Mushrooms? I like to barbecue on the weekends, usually some Chicken and veggies, possibly some polish sausages and then wash it down with a tasty Yeungling.

Best way to barbecue chicken is to sauce it first by dipping

Oct 5, 2017, 12:30 PM

in a bowl of barbecue sauce and then dropping the sauced and skinless chicken breast onto the barbecue while enjoying an iced tea.

If you don't have time for all that work, you can just whip up a plate of beef and wick sandwiches for the barbecue and serve with a liter of pepsi.

The best bbq in the upstate and quite frankly the best I have ever eaten is at Circle M BBQ in Liberty. Ribs and chicken are also amazing. Its 15 minutes from Clemson and we stop and get ribs and bbq after every home game.
