What is our signature win so far?
Oct 21, 2012, 1:41 PM
|
|
Ball St (5-3, 3-2 MAC)
Virginia Tech (4-4, 2-2 ACC)
Georgia Tech (3-4, 2-3 ACC)
Even if we win out, our Strength of schedule is going to kill us in the BCS because of the crappy ACC play and Auburn imploding.
I guess our signature win is a 9-3 or probably 8-4 fake USC.
I guess we can pray for Georgia in the Chic-fil-A bowl. Blah. I hate the BCS but it might be accurate as far as we are concerned.

I am pretty sure the computers care. I agree though. All we can do is win out.

Yeah who knew GTech, VTech and Auburn would have such bad seasons. Its not our fault our schedule looks weak but it happens sometimes.
I am most proud that we arent losing games we should win. We keep doing that, we will see what happens. If we beat SCar, I can see the BCS leaving out an 11-1 team that has wins over two SEC teams but crazier things have happened.

I agree the schedule isn't our fault, and really agree on us not dropping the ball on our games we should win so far. I guess we can hope for some parity in the rest of the SEC, Big 12, etc. on the way in.

I am holding off on ND until this weekend, I think OU will knock them off their perch.

what you can really complain about. If we had played a stronger schedule, there's a good chance we would be like 5-2 right now instead of 6-1 given the play of our defense. It took 4 quarters to pull away from some turd teams like Auburn, BC, and GT.

the defense continues to improve. We are gonna need the D to step up at the end of the season if we want to beat SCAR, and whoever we end up playing in the bowl.

We don't have one. Our strength of schedule sucks. And yes,
Oct 21, 2012, 2:22 PM
|

the SEC is over-rated and benefits unfairly as a "product" of THE major sports media company in the world. And yes, normally Auburn and VaTech are much better than this year.
The fact is all of this hurts us tremendously. It sucks, and I'll continue to ##### about it to the extent that it's wrong. For now, it is critical that we WIN; not lose to teams we should beat, and take advantage of the chances we have against "good" teams. That still may not be enough but it's all we can do.

some of those teams will look better at the end of the year

Nobody cares about Ball State, but they could very well have a 9 win season.
VT will probably finish up with 7 wins, beating Miami (least sure of their wins), Virginia, and BC and losing to FSU.
GT probably finishes with 6-7 wins, although they may also finish with only 3 wins.
Duke probably finishes with 7 or 8 wins.
Maryland could have 7 wins if they can beat GT and UNC.
NC State will probably have 9 wins at the end of the year, depending on what they do against UNC.
Then SC will be a 8-9 win team at the end of the year.
That's a fairly strong schedule (7 out of 12 teams bowl eligible), even if some teams like VT, GT, and Auburn didn't take care of their business like we thought they would.

If FSU wins out I could see them higher than or equal to their #4 ranking when they played us.

they look a lot better than their losses to ATM (which has turned out to have a great offense) and Bama. Their loss to Rutgers doesn't look so bad now either.

the FSU game sucks because we had them by their nuts in the beginning of the 3rd, but we were a double digit underdog. Let's just win out and it will take care of its self it's good that the coaches and media still see's us as a top 14 team.
