I certainly hope Bakich keeps Lecroy and Brad Owens, if they want to stay.

I'm not going to agree, or disagree, but the best way to make sure that the problems have been dealt with, is to get rid of everybody on the previous staff, and leave room for the new HC to fill his spots with the people that he wants without having left overs taking up spots!!! If it still doesn't work out, all the responsibility is own the new HC and his hires!!!

100% AGREE...that's why Jack needs to stay away

If Bakich wants to be buddies with Jack and have him as a resource or sounding board, then great, but he doesn't need his shadow on the Tigers program.

Then you don’t 100% agree with our new coach because Bakich explicitly said Jack will be involved with players and that’s his choosing.

As long as he’s not in the dugout next time we go to Omaha.

Jack’s personality and how he handles players was a large part of why we choked against South Carolina in Omaha in 2006 and 2010. We were 0–4 against South Carolina when all we needed was one win to play for a college World Series championship. We choked and played terribly. And a large part of that was because of Jack and his personality and how he handles his players in such situations. Khalil Greene had more errors in two games against South Carolina then the entire season. Baseball is a sport like most sports where the less you think and the more relaxed you are the better you play.

Seriously?
My God I hope you don’t have a college degree. Especially not from Clemson!
Have you ever heard the expression a team plays and behaves like their coach? Teams take on their coach’s identity?
You think whether a coach is loose or tight as a tick influences the team? You think how a coach handles the team curfews and what they can and can’t do on the road and their attitude isn’t affected by the coach?
Man you are freaking clueless.
You think when Clemson is in the playoffs the coaches and the players aren’t better prepared and have a better chance of being relaxed and focused if they’re playing a team that doesn’t go to the playoffs very often or has never been? Do you think how the coaching staff handles the team doesn’t affect how they play in a bowl game or a big game or a playoff?
There’s a billion industry called sports psychology that says you are wrong!

I was in a car accident that actually prevented me from playing football and running track at Clemson. My best friend from high school did play football at Clemson and I was a better athlete than them. I was also an excellent runner and had a chance at a professional career. I was an excellent athlete and my roommate at Clemson was a wrestler and I was friends with pretty much the entire soccer team, wrestling team, very good friends on the basketball team, swimming and diving, track and field, very close friends on the baseball team, and football team. Most of my friends at Clemson were athletes.
The difference between high-level sports at a school at Clemson and the professional level is mental. If you think coaches and people around an athlete don’t affect how they play you’re the one that doesn’t know a #### thing about sports. That’s why sports psychology is a billion business.
You hear commentators all the time talk about the team that’s the loosest having the advantage the team that’s been there before having the advantage and comments like the game being won before players even take the field etc. etc. because it is about emotions and mental preparedness.
Old-school NBA players love to talk about the mind games that Michael Jordan used to play and the greatest at that was Larry bird. They used to say Larry Bird had the three-point contest won before he walked out the locker room because of the way he screwed with the other guys heads.
Why do you think players talk smack during the game? To get in the other players head.
If you think coaches don’t influence their players based on their mood or their coaching style or their philosophy or how they mentally prepare the team you’re too dumb to be posting on a sports forum.
Seriously, don’t even respond because you’re just gonna make yourself look dumber and more ignorant. Clearly you have never played sports at all.

When a guy has been on the staff of the two previous coaches that were fired why would you want to keep that guy?
This is part of what screws things up to begin with. People making emotional rather than rational decisions.
I understand Matthew LeCroy has a ton of contacts and everybody loves him and he knows all the club team and summer travel ball coaches, but that’s not a reason to keep him as an assistant coach. He could easily fill some other type of position that should be allowed to help with recruiting. This is why I am in favor of the power five saying screw you to the NCAA and forming their own league. Baseball and other Olympic sports need reform far more than football. The NCAA and their rules are beyond antiquated. And the days of trying to prevent bigger schools from dominating little schools by having incredibly restrictive rules and regulations are long gone. I would love to see the power five create their own league and the Olympic sports would benefit probably much more than football and basketball.

his people and surround the program and himself with his guy's. It's only fair. He's the new ball coach and he has that right.
