Pitchers need work early in the season. It’ll pay off later. Backich is just trying to give his young arms some game experience.

Disagree completely. I think it was the perfect time to put in a freshman, but he didn't get the job done. But they had a short leash and pulled him before things got too far out of hand. That is how you develop players.

Y’all also realize the season is early and no role is defined and they aren’t gonna have a guy go 7 innings this early. They dont wanna burn guys early. Wanna progress. Long season.

He was obviously nervous. I would have been too. Great learning experience for him. Now our pitching coach will coach him up. He just had a bad night. It happens to everyone. He’s got talent, just needed to relax some and take some deep breaths before his delivery. He will be fine.

Bakich goes by the book when it comes to pitching changes. The book was written by famed Little League coach and pitching guru Willie Nillie.

Good on Coach Backich for getting that appearance under his belt without actually costing the team a win. I suspect that young man will be MUCH better the next time out, we all have to start somewhere.

In order to get elite at pitching, you need to ummmmmmmm get opportunities. And yea dude is probably nervous. He is a freshmen
