Backporch View

Jun 18, 2024, 10:41 PM

The view from my porch chair is not what most want in their yard (lawn), but I do keep the beer at 30degrees out here, and the music is always too loud.

You can see my chair cushion at the bottom for perspective.

This pond is 18 years old and supports lots of critters inside and outside of it. Even deer drink there.
There are a couple dozen old fat Sarasa Comets, some tadpoles, newts, frogs, and some turtles.

I keep the ph around 7 and the water clean for my critters. The ord is good. Spring brings algae which is not harmful, but I get that under control with UV. Some run off rain water from my roof is diverted there, I never need to add water.

It is 40 inches straight down so coons and herons can't wade to catch my aquatic friends. It is about 4000 gallons, wish I had made it bigger.

Those flowers in front are auto watered by a solar pump on a timer with nutrient rich pond water as I am lazy. They seem to like turtle water.
