Is it an automatic top 20 in university rankings or something? Does Clemson become an "elite" university academically? Seems like a lot of effort and money to me.

It’s more money in direct research funding and overhead because they encourage the aau schools to collaborate on proposals. We’ve been at a disadvantage as a relative newcomer research university, but you can literally see it getting better over the last 20 years.

Didn’t seem to matter to the BIG when they took Nebraska, they are not AAU affiliated.
