on Clemson right now. Is it illegal to tell him "If we offer you a 4 year ticket right now, will you sign in blood"?

Get a guy that boots it in the endzone everytime or get a coverage team that can keep the opposing inside their own 20. Which is best??

I'm going with Kicker who kicks touchbacks everytime but it would be nice to have a coverage team to stop them at the 20 everytime but that's rare and I think what we have tried to do since we lost pinson and it hasn't worked so all day touchbacks!

We lost a National Championship because of our inconsistent KO Coverage. Give this kid a chance.

I'll take the kicker. Our special teams personnel can't be any less athletic than any other teams. It has to be a scheme or coaching failure for the special teams mishaps. It can be correctable I'm sure. But with one awesome kicker kicking the ball out the end zone you don't have to worry near as much about a few guys missing tackles.

If he is booting 95% of his kickoffs out the endzone then he is worth an offer. Huegle is a great FG & extra point kicker but he doesnt have what it takes to do KOs.

I would ABSOLUTELY love to see us with a kicker that can kick the ball into or out of the end zone on at least 90% to 99% of the time. That would help us hold teams to a bunch of no gain yardage on about every kick off. The risk of returning a kick off for big yardage or a TD is there on every kickoff. And the best way to eliminate those risk, is to kick the ball deep into or out of the end zone. That can be a game changer for any team that has that type of a kicker. I remember when GT use to beat good teams bc they had a great special teams in their kicking and punting game!!! Sign him up Dabo, just by having that type of kicker will fix part of our special teams problems with just one player!!!

Excellent point. And I think people forget we kicked off more than any other team in the country last year. More opportunity for mishaps. Although always room for improvement.

Punters get scholarship. Kickers walk on until they earn it

Lakip was given a scholly only because the coaches were panicking over that lame freshman Cantanzaro who missed the kick in Auburn! Catman worked his tail off and became one of the best kickers we have ever had...

Sounds like he likes clemson. We need to land this guy as walk on or have to throw as scholly his way this kid seems like he's got a leg and can touchback on kickoffs and getting better and better at fgs. This is the type of recruit that doesn't get attention but could be one of the most important guys in the class. Exceptially bc the troubles we've had recently at special teams.

Just saying......

When it comes to finding someone to do kick-offs, I'm not sure what the problem is.... It's not like it even has to be someone who's a current, or even past fb player. It's not like they even need to be 17 or 18 years old. Shoot, just have open try-outs to basicly anyone/ to start with, the main coaching staff wouldn't even need to be there. As you you would eliminate ppl as you go. Heck, you're asking 1 thing... consistently put the ball in the end one....gee. (what's the problem)
Soccer team anyone? #21
