My son and I just finished booking flights, hotel and purchased tickets. (OUCH) Santa came early for us. Hope to see some friendly faces while we're there.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that visiting teams were going to be given 3,500 tickets, with up to 500 for the band. I believe 1,000 had to be in the lower deck. I'll see if I can find the article.

Already here (Round Rock, a suburb).
We are scheduled to be flying to WY on the 21st to spend Christmas with grandchildren... and their parents. If we change those plans, we will go to the game.

Son and I are staying on E 6th street in downtown Austin. If you know of some good restaurants or watering holes we should pop into please share. Also any places we should avoid I’m all ears.

Be careful on sixth street. The crime statistics have risen in recent years.
For BBQ, don't waste your time waiting in line at Franklins. Blacks, Coopers, and Stiles Switch are all excellent.
I can't recommend a watering hole, but I would suggest googling for the type of music you like and choose accordingly. It is the Live Music Capitol!
There are some rough areas east of IH35, so venture accordingly.
Chuy's used to be a local Tex-Mex favorite, but they have gone down in quality since Covid. A lot of people like Torchy's Tacos as it started out as a food truck in Austin. I like Velvet Taco better. El Arroyo, downtown, used to be good. Haven't been in a long time.

We stayed in Austin near 6th street when we last played Texas A &M out there. I think we stayed at Aloft hotel. I liked the location because there were so many music venues nearby. A lot of places and different types of music to choose from. I will say there were LOTS of homeless people in that area though but otherwise I really enjoyed that location.
