"let slip away"
Wow, getting sacked 11 times, not scoring a single touchdown, and not scoring a single point after the second possession of the game, one field goal a complete gift courtesy of a fumble by Clemson on its own 10-yard line and that is letting one slip away?
Repeat after me Auburn coaches, players and fans: You had the same amount of touchdowns when your buses exited Death Valley as you had when you they left Auburn the day before.

Often times that's the difference between a championship team and an also ran. The solid teams don't let one 'Slip away'.

We out gained Pitt and had over 600 yards of offense. Auburn only netted 68 total yards.

Just read the stat line and it confirmed what I saw with my own eyes. Clemson dominated that game. Victory doesn't slip away if you were never close to having it in the first place. When the game was over there was no doubt that Clemson was better. It's funny how people have short memories when it comes to certain things.

Since we weren't much better than the Coots, if at all.

Yep, it slipped away

In the same way that buck shot slips it's way into the side of a deer.
Auburn had 117 total yards, 38 Rushing and 79 passing to our 281 yds.
They gave up 11 sacks and 14 tackles for loss.
So yeah, victory slipped away from Auburn in much the same way that existence slipped away from Hiroshima.

Is letting it slip away? They might need to send someone for a “random” drug test.

Honestly they're lucky it was KB's first big game and Feaster and ETN hadn't gotten it all together, otherwise it would have been a blowout.

from it being 14-3. a shanked field goal by us from 17-3 we also fumbled driving in the 3rd at their 38 or it might have been 24-3. I don't they they had a turnover. We let a blowout slip away is what happened.

Exactly the Auburn fans next to me even admitted that things were about to get ugly if it wasn't for the CJ Fuller fumble.

What they did not notice or don't want to admit is Clemson had such a firm grasp around their neck that we did not try for anything beyond that. So, they couldn't not slip away. Submitted; is what really was.
