The New Orleans flu and the crud
Dec 29, 2017, 3:01 PM
|
|
Hey folks,
A bit off topic here, but I’ve been in New Orleans for the last week. Almost everyone I’ve interacted with here has a terrible head and chest cold, including hotel, restaurant, and medical workers. The flu is rampant here as well right now.
Not trying to be Mr. public service announcement, but I figured I’d give fellow T-Netters the heads up. Wash hands, don’t touch face, etc...etc.
Have fun everyone. Go Tigers!!

Yep, but they’re reporting this year that the flu shot is highly ineffective against the strains that are getting folks here.

which is why I think its ridiculous to get the flu shot.
I've never had the flu vaccine and I've never had the flu, but this lady that works with me gets the flu shot every year but she gets the flu every year. hmmmmmmmmm

Dang me too, since Tuesday morning. It’s been awful with temperature fluctuations, headache, low appetite, etc. Barley caught much Tiger coverage due to sleeping all week

At least I'm not the only one

My wife began getting sick on Monday evening and I picked it up Wednesday. Doctors confirmed it was the flu and also stated that this years vaccine was not effective.
We were supposed to leave yesterday for NOLA. Hopefully we will be okay by tomorrow or Sunday, so we can at least make the game

' Hear that the shot is only 10% effective for this strain.

Man you’re a trooper if you muster up enough energy by tomorrow. I’m on day 4 and still couch bound. I can barely keep my eyes open right now. You’re probably still contagious, but good luck
