Please do tell us the rules you are referring to and how them going into the portal after we all thought they were out of eligibilty helps them? I am just curious they play here.
I am assuming entering the portal just preserves their rights later on should something change. But what rules are they leveraging and what is impending that may grant them another year or two.

From what I understand is that the ongoing litigation for extra eligibility would only apply to players in the portal. If they stay on the roster, they have no chance of playing anymore and Brownell loses that spot for other transfers, but if they are in the portal, they might be granted an extra year. I would hope the plan is to have extra eligibility and come back to Clemson, it sounds like Brownell and co. told them to enter the portal.

If they somehow get a waiver, Coach Brad will figure out how to get them on his squad for 1 more year!

Hate to see him leave though I thought he had exhausted all his eligibility so was not depending on him for next year. Wonder if he thinks leaving somehow helps his case to get another year or if he felt we were not fighting enough for his case.

He is not the only one. All these players trying to get a 5th and some cases 6th year of eligibility. Only couple of days left to enter so these guys not projected as NBA guys are doing this.

They’re seeking eligibility for another year and Brownell doesn’t want to sit around and wait to figure out. I believe he has other options on the table.

Are they entering the portal to possibly expedite a decision from the NCAA about eligibility and then remain at Clemson if granted one more year?

SUPPOSEDLY THEY CAN NOT BE ON THE ROSTER IF THEY ARE GRANTED A 5TH YEAR FROM THE NCAA. HAVE TO BE IN PORTAL.

because you think it makes Brownell look bad, Jaeden had to enter the portal if he hopes to get another year of eligibility.
The deadline to enter the portal is fast approaching and he had to do it if he wants another year. Schieffelin actually declared today as well.
If Zackery is granted the extra year he plans to return to Clemson.
