Arrogance or ignorance

Oct 29, 2023, 9:05 AM

Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but that last drive brought back (I hate to use the term PTSD) nightmares or Tommy Bowden's arrogance in the sense of I know so much more about coaching and football than you know-nothing fans, that I'm going to show it off to you while letting Clemson lose.

The calmness and methodical four minute drive march that saw us at midfield with half a minute to go and still no sense of urgency or panic from QB, players, coaches, or anyone on the sideline was mindboggling. It's almost as if there was pleasure in knowing the fans in the stands and watching on tv were going crazy about how we should be in more of a hurry, while they were keeping a calm head and picking up 1-2 yards at a time (on a good play).

Maybe I'm giving them too much credit to say that - maybe there's just no awareness whatsoever about what the score is, what quarter we are in, or that there's more on the line than the next NIL deal.

This is painful.
