Calling for Dabo to retire or be fired or hand the program over to someone else? Do people not remember what the program was before he took over? Saw one person on X say Brad Brownell is a better coach than Dabo. What are we doing?

If what you're saying about Dabo is truly what you believe, do yourself and Tiger nation a favor, resign your Clemson Tiger Fan-Manship and find yourself another team to be a fan to that you approve of the HC. Dabo is the HC that I still fully believe in, and he will get out his Tiger team back to the top. IMO he has tried some things that didn't work out as well as he expected, and I believe that he will right the team back to it's winning ways. If he fails to do so within a couple more years it will be then that admit he's no longer good for the Clemson FB program, but never before he's had adequate time to right the team. He has already made a few changes that seems to be the right moves, and there was a couple that were still wrong, but I believe that he will replace those position again in a fair amount of time...

Dabo's last few year have been the Tommy Bowden years. Have all the talent, lose games we shouldn't and inevitably play for nothing at the end of the year. The game more than ever is about conference championships and playoff appearances. A 10-2/9-3 season looks good but ultimately is the same as 6-6. Change is needed.

We paid Tommy West $150,000. With inflation, that's $290,000. Tommy Bowden made just under $700,000 all in, and that's just under a million today.
Dabo's salary is 37 times more than Tommy West and about 15 times more than Bowden. 6 years ago, he was worth it. Today? In the last 4 years, we have finished: 5th, 1st, 7th, and likely 3rd in the ACC. We've been 2-9 against opponents that finished ranked, with an average score of 18-29, so an 11 point average loss.
And the ACC is only a shadow of itself from when Bowden coached. At the time Bowden was there, you had Bobby Bowden, one of the all time greats, at Florida State. You had Frank Beamer at Virginia Tech. You had Larry Coker at Miami. Paul Johnson came along at Georgia Tech. These were championship-caliber coaches. And great players were in the ACC at the time like Matt Ryan and Philip Rivers. Tommy Bowden had a harder schedule most years than Dabo has the past 4.
And I think this argument is a strawman any way. No one's making us go to Ken Hatfield. We pay Dabo $11 million, that's the second most in CFB. Only Kirby Smart is paid more. We can go out and pay for a super-elite, proven coach with the amount of money we spend. I'd rather Dabo stay and adapt, but you set up a strawman here acting like our choice is Dabo for $11 million or 0-12 seasons.

What “super elite proven coach” with a better resume than Dabo do you have in mind?
And you might tell him that averaging 10 wins per year for 4 years straight will get him fired as well.

I mean, LSU boosters have already been talking about firing Brian Kelly. He's averaging 10 win seasons, has only been there two years, and has two bowl wins and was ranked higher than us. They fired Orgeron 2 years after he had a 15-0 season. They haven't had any trouble hiring, and we pay more than them. Ryan Day has been said to be on the hot seat. USC is a turnstile of coaches. Many other examples. None of them have had difficulty hiring. Coaches understand you're being paid a ton of money and that comes with very high expectations. The good coaches think they'l meet them.
I don't like this "resume" talk. If I say someone like Dan Lanning, who is currently succeeding in the modern world of CFB and makes a third of what Dabo does, you'll just be like "WeLl DaBo WoN cHaMpIoNsHiPs!" And my response is that what he did in the pre-NIL/portal world is no longer relevant when judging whether he deserves his salary NOW. So I don't accept your premise for starters.
If you want to discuss resumes since the portal became a thing, I can name 20 coaches with arguably better results than him.

This is factually incorrect. Dan Lanning’s salary is $8.2M, also less than Mark Stoops, Eli Drinkwitz, Mike Norvell, Lincoln Riley etc. In fact of the top 20 highest paid coaches there are only 2 that currently own national championships, Kirby and Dabo.

I wonder if you're still going to feel like this when we're winning 4 or 5 games a year because we have no talent and won't augment the roster with the portal. How many year of that is it going to take for you to recognize there's a problem?

Blah blah blah. So sick of this narrative, just because we aren’t a 3-4 win team doesn’t mean Dabo doesn’t need to adapt recruiting and stop making unqualified hires.
The majority of critical posts about dabo aren’t about wanting him to step down/retire/get fired, they’re just about him doing what got us 2 national championships to begin with, getting rid of incompetence on the coaching staff, and being on the leading edge.
He did it once, and he can do it again. He’s just got to get off his high horse and adapt to the times. CFB isn’t going back to what it was 5,10, 20 years ago, ever. So stop digging in your heals and suck it up and deal with it

#17 is decent but certainly not elite. He spoiled us with “The Best is Yet to Come” talk, when it clearly isn’t. I’m not sure we can compete with the big boys in the current environment, even if Dabo tries to adapt. It was a great 5 year run, though!!

We are not going to be top 4 every year for 20 years. You people thinking that's is possible are wild. Wanting Dabo gone for going .500 for a couple of years would be one thing but winning 10 games every year is hard to do. He certainly should keep his job if he can do that.

of intelligence on the matter. Evident in their banter that they've never played or coached a team. Probably never really worked for anything in their lives. It's all as easy as switching the coach or buying a portal player. Same morons who say "they don't deserve to dance!"
Keep saying it so we know who you are.

Thinking it's only 2% of tbe fan base that feels tbis way is what's gonna to shock you. Probably more like 30-40% that sees what is happening because of his personal beliefs about how CFB should be managed. No one is questioning his ability to select and motivate players. He just is no longer giving Clemson the best chance to succeed because of his personal choices. In most professional jobs that is a termination offense. Not at Clemson, we are good as long as you are a good person????

While I do believe our coach needs to adapt to the new college football environment, I believe our current issues are related to two things. Number one is we lost the best defensive coach in the country to Oklahoma and we lost Tony Ellett and Jeff Scott to head coaching positions. Our current defensive and offensive coordinators are not near the caliber these men were. Number two is the talent level. There is a lot of talent on this team but we were spoiled by future professional quarterbacks Watson and Lawrence,, and outstanding receivers such as Hopkins, Higgins, Ross, Cain, Renfrow, etc. And with regard to recruiting, I believe NIL money is hurting us there. Just My thoughts.

In Dabo I trust.
He does it right. Develops his players into great young men. Graduates almost all his players. This is what a college athletic program is supposed to be. What it is turning out to be is questionable. But then again, what do you expect when the government gets involved.
I am proud to call him "my" football coach.
As a Clemson and Ga Tech fan (graduated from both institutions) I am proud of both institutions from an academic and athletic perspective. Granted my expectations for both programs are differant. A great season for Tech is 8-9 wins while a great season for Clemson is 10+ wins with a playoff team ervery 2-3 years.
I know my opinion carries no weight but if anyone were to ask me, Dabo can stay the Clemson football coach until he decides he doesn't want to do it here anymore.
In Dabo I trust.

And with what integrity and class the program has, this man is worth sticking by for longer than most.
Give it a few more years, let the revenue sharing hopefully help, let the new coaches have a some more time.
Dabo gave us all a great gift and deserves some loyalty.

Yes- because they don’t understand that the money we pay our coaches and the money that could be used for NIL come from 2 different buckets. I give Clemson about 5k a year for the rights to pay for my tickets ,parking, and the costs of the tickets. None of that money can currently be used for NIL money to pay for kids to play here. All that money has to come from an NIL collective. I do not now or ever intend to give to an NIL collective unless that money reduces what I currently have allocated to Clemson football. Posters on this board either think Dabo should pay for some of these players with the 11 million he makes (which I don’t know if that is even allowed) or just don’t have a grasp of how things work.
