Apology? Explanation?

Mar 24, 2014, 11:35 AM

Not sure which is more appropriate. Probably should be apology.
I don't post much, but I attended Clemson and am a fan. I was a big fan of OP. I thought he was a great fit for Clemson, and I liked the enthusiasm he brought to the program. Loved the sellouts and excitement.
I hadn't appreciated Brownell. It was unfair, because, living far away and not seeing his teams in person or on tv a whole lot, I just didn't have a good feel for what was happening - and what he was building.
I saw a bunch of games this year. (Unfortunately, I saw the Pitt game in Pittsburgh live. A bad outing.) But this year overall, Clemson looks scrappy, reasonably talented and really well-coached.
Nice job by Brownell and the team. I hope there's more good basketball to come.

Now that's a good post.

Skeptical but well reasoned and respectful

Whatever you do, always give 100%.....unless it's donating blood

There's no place on Tnet for well-reasoned and respectful!***

Good post. Yes, Brownell is doing an excellent job! He is the best head coach we have on campus. He has an incredible staff as well. Earl Grant worked under Gregg Marshall when he was at Winthrop and Wichita State.

The future is extremely bright for the Tigers!

Not sure I'd go as far as saying he's the best

coach on campus.

Dabo's won an ACC title and a BCS bowl in the last 3 seasons. Hard to argue with that resume.

With that being said, Brownell probably is the better X and O mind (yes, I realize they are different sports).

However, I don't think you will find many coaching resumes that are more impressive than Dabo's in the first 5-6 years on the job.

Bottom line: They are both doing a phenomenal job, and I am glad to have both of them.

"Because at the end of the game, everyone knew that they weren’t that much better than us or better than us at all."

Agreed! Coach Brownell has done, and is doing, an incredible job! Recruiting for Clemson basketball has always been more challenging than recruiting for football or baseball.

Thanks for kind words on the post. Just FYI. I go way back with Clemson basketball. The first Clemson team I saw live was coached by Bobby Roberts.
I'd love to see somebody get it going for more than two or three seasons.

Just so I'm on board, who's the coot in this exchange?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Bizarre ain't it?

Mar 24, 2014, 1:44 PM [ in reply to Tell 'em coot ]

Dude is so twisted he thinks concocting a phoney positive here and there hides his dung pecking beak.

In reality, something is very, very "off" with that dude. He obviously struggles with mental imbalance, and unfortunately for Tigernet his asylum gives him a few hours of daily internet time. Apparently they block the word "####" from the loons, and that's why he spends so much time here.

I don't blame you Shane! You're so in love with Dabo that you can't even acknowledge what a great job Brownell is doing! Jealousy is bad for the soul, my friend! LOL!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Dabo is doing a good job, and so is Brad...

Mar 24, 2014, 2:02 PM

What does that have to do with the fact you're several fries short of a happy meal?

Since you enjoy hating and insulting me so much, keep going. I can assure you that nothing you say really hurts, bothers, or even upsets me. But you might want to think about the underlying (subconscious) reasons why you resent me so much.

Short term memory loss?

A) I don't hate you in the least bit.

B) Posting with a multitude of handles on your rivals site, logging in with several ones in the course of a day and sometimes even replying to yourself within threads... that's just not something a sane person would make a hobby out of.

Just simple fact. It's not my fault.

Re: Short term memory loss?

Mar 25, 2014, 12:01 AM

I appreciate (a)! As for (b)? For the (what?) fortieth time, I have only one "handle". Does it ever strike you as strange that absolutely no one else on this board believes I have more than my only "handle"? Let's just agree to disagree on this one.....you can continue to believe that I use 57 "handles" on this board: that will be your "simple fact". For my "simple fact" I'll choose to believe that you enjoy ogling elderly ladies in nursing homes, as well as prepubescent boys at swimming pools, and that your most prized possession is an unwashed UF jockstrap used by Steve Spurrier in 1966, which hangs proudly above your mantel. See, it's easy to make simple facts, right? Hey.....it's not my fault!
