Anyone with in depth analysis of GT? I think offensively

Sep 20, 2016, 8:16 AM

For us we just need to play Clemaon football. Hoping to see some more strides with line and would love to see TE a little more. If we are truly holding some plays close to the chest then fine. Defensively the option is the option. I'm not overlooking GT but I don't think they have the same caliber players they've had in the past. I believe our line will be very effective against the dive leaving the options to the outside. We must play good disciplined football. No over pursuits or we get burned. I think we just have too much going for us to lose this one. But it would be nice to get a good lead so that the crazy things that happen will not be enough to sway the outcome. Go Tigers! Yellow Jackets will be hungry let's bring the Raid!

GT has a pretty decent team every 3-4 years because they don't lose to many players to the NFL.
I believe this season is going to be a good one for them.
I don't think they beat us but they will hang around.

Thanks for that. Something I haven't thought about.

I guess the team playing together for several years can be a big plus. Likely minimizes turnovers and penalties if they are playing smart. Hope we can keep penalties and turnovers down. Hoping Ray Ray keeps being a dynamic return man. That will definitely jump start our drives.

theirs will be to limit the number of times we have on offense. pj has said that for them to have a chance to win they must keep the number of times we have the ball to 6-8 per half. they want to do this by keeping the ball away from us with slow ball control offense and run as much clock doing it. they have to score td's and not fg. on d if you have watched how the first two teams played us, it gives a plan to teams. play press man to man on receivers and put a spy on dw and hope he is not accurate in throws. keep him from running to beat you. it is very dangerous to try to play press man but most will not play zone and let him pick you apart. troy also used two defenders to bracket williams to limit the damage he does with back shoulder throws. we have to get the run game going and get to the edge with our speed. we need to score quick because that offense is not designed to play from behind and throw the ball alot.

GT last year was really bad because of a lot of injuries, and losing a ton of skilled positions. Coach paul Johnson has said the guys we have can be as good on offense as the 2014 team but they are not there yet. I don't think we will be able to run up the middle on y'all so we will have to hit some big passes to keep y'all honest on the outside. We hired Ron west to help coach the OL and it has helped a lot, especially in pass blocking. It should be an interesting game and I think it will be a close one, but wouldn't be surprised if either team ended up winning it by 2 or 3 TD's. There are a lot of questions for both teams and this will be the first real test of the year for both teams.
