Anyone see much of UGA/Neb? The small parts

Jan 1, 2014, 4:49 PM

I saw showed me that Hutson Mason is a long way from being a really good QB and their defense still looked sloppy. Anything can happen through a spring and with new recruits coming in.

But I'm 'feeling' that the game between the hedges might be a little more winnable for us. Especially if we get Beasley back and maybe even if we don't get Bryant back.

Anyone who saw more of the game who sees it differently?

Mason Park from Stratford is a better QB than Huntley Mason.

Will be interesting to see if he starts as a True Freshman.

Think TiGs will B in great shape with either Cole OR Kelley*

best in the SEC until injuries took their toll. Huntley Mason, in my opinion is not that good but Park will never start as a freshman. I don't know that he ever will.

Park won't start and neither will D. Williams.

Mixed feelings if a true freshman starts for UGA.

On the one hand, he would be inexperienced and potentially make more mistakes.

On the other hand, I don't want flashbacks of an Eric Zeier-esque coming out party.

I still remember the commercials. Clemson D was saying "Georgia, run on us....". Yep, they didn't need to, just throw it.

In a way I'd rather see a pure freshman as QB

than one you battled against GT and Nebraska. It can be a lot easier to rattle a true novice by attacking him.

But Richt would have to feel desperate I think to start Park. Mason didn't look THAT bad, just no where close to Murray and one who is still getting his guts together as a starter. His stats aren't terrible and a lot of their problems may be that he just hasn't built up that bond with the offense yet. Dunno.

Park was really upstaged in state championship game

by that QB from Northwest going to Oklahoma State - if he turns out to be All-American from there, I am going to be really p.o.d!
