Anyone here get the Johnson and Johnson COVID shot?

Mar 30, 2021, 11:06 AM

I swear it's giving me flu symptoms...anyone else experience this?

My best friend got it and had to be hospitalized the next day. She was fine the day of the shot and the next day she woke up and worked out. Then she felt like she couldn’t breathe and thought she was having a heart attack. She went to the emergency room and after numerous tests, they believe it was a reaction to the shot. But, her husband had the same shot and was totally fine.

Sounds horrible! I am glad she is ok though!!***

Someone at work got the J&J vaccine and said the same thing. Missed the next day of work because of it. The funny thing, she had (a mild case of) Covid earlier this year and said the vaccine made her feel worse. Don't know if that is cause/effect, probably not. I got Moderna (the first dose so far) and no ill effects.

I got it an had a headache overnight and into the next morning, but that could have been allergies bothering me and a sinus headache, so nothing major for me.

My wife got it after I did and had fever, chills, aches, and the whole deal for about 12-18 hours.

I've heard it is worse for those who have had COVID before, but neither my wife nor myself were diagnosed with COVID prior to the shot.

My parents also got the J&J shot with similar effects to my wife's and mine.

My dad was fine and my mom had the same symptoms as my wife, but hers lasted for a shorter period of time.

Johstone Hall for a year. My immune system learned to fight off every known virus to man by the time I moved out.

I lived in Johnstone for a year AND ate 3 meals a day at Harcombe for 4 years. The government will not allow me to donate blood any longer....it can be easily weaponized and turned into an instrument of mass destruction.

My second Pfizer soon too. No issues after the first. Not even a sore arm. Everyone I know that had both Pfizer doses had no issues. J&J either.

I'm glad I don't have to schedule a 2nd round.

Anyone on here complain on a chat board every time they have a days worth of feeling crappy? Jeez. Maybe your body is showing signs of an immune response? Take a Tylenol and stop moaning to the world about chills and a headache. Wussification of the world, I swear.

complaints ...... or is that also in the category of wussification. (As I slump forward at my computer to try to relieve some of the pressure).

Re: Anyone here get the Johnson and Johnson COVID shot?

Mar 30, 2021, 2:09 PM

Yup, (32 years old and healthy overall) I got the J&J 2 weeks ago at 10am on a Sunday morning. Was tired so slept from about 1-5 that afternoon (I rarely nap like that). Went to bed for the night around 10 feeling fine, but woke up around 1 feeling like the flu was coming on. Felt achy, tired, headache, slight nausea, etc.

Woke up the Monday morning still tired and achy, and had a terrible headache. So, I took Tylenol and went back to sleep for a couple hours. Got up around 9:30, worked from home for 5 hours and then took another nap from 2:30-5:30. Felt great when I woke up from that nap and the symptoms never really came back other than feeling a bit more tired than usual for another day or 2.

Never had a fever that I'm aware of (checked a few times, but no chills or anything), but had most of the other side effects of the flu.

Those side effects seem to be pretty common among all of the different vaccines, but it does affect everyone differently.

J&J vax is designed to trigger an immune response

Your reaction will be stronger on average compared to the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines.

Hope you get thru it quick and everything is effective.
