...doesn't really have his heart in winning anymore? Ever since the Natty's he has stressed 'building men' by awarding scholarships to 'deserving' players and placing a VERY high price on good character. Promoting from within to give these young coaches their break. This is commendable behavior, but not if your purpose is to win football games. Living in Knoxville as I do, I suffered through several UT coaches and when Butch Jones wasn't winning and was called out on it, he responded that his players were going to be 'Champions of Life'. All well and good, but that's not what you are getting paid (at the time) 3 million dollars to do. My point is maybe Dabo is a victim of his own success. He is maybe looking for more meaning to life...just a thought.

Dabo made it. He is done and now he just wants to help others "make it". He doesn't have the the edge.

I don’t think it’s fair to question his desire.
With that said, it seems that he only wants to win his way. I perceive that he’s either arrogant that his way is best, or unwilling to make the changes necessary to improve our program.

before he was named HC.
When he became HC, Vickery Hall was his first monument to building and arming his student-athletes with the tools to be successful. Other programs followed by building learning centers of their own. He's always told parents that he would give their child back to them in 3-5 years as better men, husbands, sons and on... than when they showed up as he would help them along that maturation process.
PAW Journey is another example.
If I had to guess, Dabo may walk away from coaching if he feels he can't win, he's always seemed to been driven by it.

his demeanor, his defensiveness. He seems to be not be having fun anymore, not sure what is going on unless he knows something that he does not say...which is that this team along with the last couple of years the team just isn't elite material anymore. I think it eats at him not to be among the elite but he seems unsure of himself and how to get back there. 2 generational QB's helped him get those 2 titles, make no mistake, but they had elite playmakers at every position so it was NOT just the 2 QB's, it was everyone.
Now it just seems that the cohesion is missing that once was obvious. The swagger, the confidence, the fire, the passion, I see none of that now
