Anyone else impressed with ND's Offensive Line ?

Especially pass blocking. They did an unbelievable job of picking up blitzes & keeping #14 upright for the most part. It was frustrating to say the least - i know we missed some tackles in the backfield that led to big gains too.

We knew they were good, real question was our D-Line

and how they would stack up against their highly touted offensive line. Welp, we all witnessed the result. Shaq Lawson was utterly devastating. We refused to let them establish the run which was critical with a young, new starter at QB. Unlike Jameis in 2013, Kizer made lots of mistakes as a result of our defensive strategy. The media analysts basically gave us no shot to match up with their O-line. I think all spectators would agree we matched up a lot better than expected. We also got the last laugh on the 2-point conversion.

More impressed with their QB...

A lot of QB's would have folded down big in the 4th quarter but he rallied them. I don't see them losing another game which is great for us.

It was feast or famine for them pass blocking

We either got great penetration or Kizer had all day to throw. There weren't many plays where Kizer had what I would consider a "normal" amount of time.

But there all world tackle had to hold Shaq on nearly every play.
Their O-line had at least 4 or 5 tackles on our defensive ends

They were as billed.
However, I've never seen a team get away with such blatant holding.

They were probably the best we'll play this year - just points to the fact that our D Line can be as dominant as any in the nation, though. I'd like to see a hair more in pass rush later in games but that's a minor quibble for now.

but their OL was fantastic in pass protection. Our DL won the battle in the running game and prevented them from getting any push, but they similarly negated our pass rush pretty much the entire night and gave Kizer tons of time to throw. We ended up with a few sacks, but i think they were all coverage sacks.
If we could consistently give Watson that kind of time to throw he would a Heisman front runner.

Thinking Stanley and the LG would be better off on D. Excellent tacklers.

Shaq Lawson is not an easy guy to tackle btw.
Stanley wrapped up for a perfect form tackle.
Probably didn't even need the LGs help tbh.
