It’s pretty interesting, and if you think he’s in Trump’s “move along, nothing to see here” camp, think again.
I’m an optimist by nature, and his “hide your kids hide your wife” take on all this probably centers me more towards reality of what to expect throughout this ordeal.

It would be better if it was a flu virus. This is different. This will register on the world population scale one day. We are lucky. There are countries of millions with a handful of respirators. If it kills 50k Americans it likely will kill many millions worldwide.
Italy not even treating people over 60 with ventilators. They're on their own. Sad.

be crystal clear that Bannon has a revelationist agenda, and it colors everything he does. If you think his opinions deserve validation, then go ahead with yo bad self, but not me. The guy is an eloquent opportunist, that cares not a squirt of pee about other human beings. He’s long on biblical quotes and analogies, which evangelicals love, but he is decidedly rent of solutions or suggestions for these “all world” problems. He is a sham...he and DJT were made for each other.

Bannon is pretty much the modern-day version of Rasputin.
He's a bright guy. He understands the issues very well, and even seems to demonstrate a firm grasp on what is right, and what is wrong.
He then proceeds to do wrong, and for the highest bidder.

Dude doesn't agree with Trump on much in this process. Thinks Cuomo and Newsom are doing it right. Haven't heard one religious reference, and he's brought on some knowledgeable and interesting guests from across the ideological spectrum. They're the main reason I've listened so far.
Sounds like you've made up your mind before listening though, so no worries.

Didn't listen to it, no, but it really doesn't surprise me that Bannon has a really good grasp on things, or that he's disagreeing with Trump. I've heard him do that plenty of times.
The dude isn't a shill at all. Like I said, he gets it. He knows full well, for instance, that Trumpism is a populist scam.
The problems with Bannon tend to come not with what he says...but what he then actually does afterward. His job isn't just to be a player - though he does seem to fancy himself to be the ultimate Man Behind the Curtain - or just another of the guys manipulating the reactionary herd.
His big thing is actually teaching others how to do so as well. He thinks he's the architect of the game. I actually heard him talking Asimov's psycho-history one time, the prediction (and manipulation) of the behavior of man-masses, and he is largely credited as being the guy who first correctly divined that politics is downstream from culture...meaning, stuff expresses itself in everyday behavior years before it appears in the political realm. To him, that's what makes the frog jump, and he's really good at getting in ahead of the curve...and insinuating himself into the process. He was also the architect of that Cambridge Analytica mass data jack - which also played no small role in Brexit.
He knows perfectly well that what he does is dishonest, manipulative, and ultimately destructive.
He just doesn't care.

Fact, I think you just stated eloquently why it’s willfully ignorant to not at least be aware of what someone like him is saying. I have complete trust in my moral compass and my powers of discernment, so he’s not going to hypnotize me into something I disagree with like the snake on Disney’s Robin Hood.
Purely out of curiosity though, who would you rather have whispering in Trump’s ear if you had to choose one—-Bannon or Kushner?

a morbid curiosity about what his new game is or where he is in it. He’s a smart dude, no doubt, but he’s no thinker. Bannon only needs people to hear him in order to manipulate them. If you want to learn how to weaponize internet hive opinion and troll armies, be my guest, but it doesn’t appeal to me.

I suppose it’s good to know what he’s up to, but I have no interest in him or anyone that would agree to be on his show. He and his duck dynasty buddies will hopefully slink away back to the shadows after this administration/evangelical movement goes away. He devalues society.
OTOH, maybe I should take his master class and preach about humanism.

I’m also regularly scared with how he is able to influence folks and decisions that are negative at times.
Ultimately, I treat Bannon like a Kardashian, Bachelor TV or the Southern Charm folks. Many folks enjoy watching them. However, I’d rather not give my site visits and indirectly money to those kinds of people.
