This is specific to the Venezuela gang deportation. My understanding is that the people deported were here legally. They were deported because they were said to be in a dangerous gang. Due process, in this case, means that the people set to be deported get to challenge the assertion they're in a gang and then the gov has to present their evidence supporting their claim and then a judge rules on it.
Without due process, there is nothing procedurally to prevent the government from driving by and picking you up and sending you to a jail in Central America and you couldn't do cheet about it.

This was a deportation of people here legally because they were in a violent gang...which I wholeheartedly support. Do you agree that the gov should have to present evidence that said person is in the gang before they're shipped off to a brutal prison?

We shipped people to a prison in El Salvador and they weren't in the US illegally. THAT is the whole point about due process. Shouldn't the government have to show some proof of their assertions if they're going to deport some here legally? Yes, of course they should.

You do know that Temporary Protected Status (TPS) extensions have been shutdown for about 600,000 Venezuelans?
We'll see if District Court Judge, Edward Chen, in San Francisco, gets slapped down for making decisions, like Boasberg, for protecting illegals out of his circuit.

Sometimes they are already in the system like that dude that got shipped to El Salvador illegally. As far as people turning themselves in, I would imagine they don't want to get deported. Why don't all illegal weed smokers just go turn themselves in? When they are caught due process is generally needed depending on the scenario.

I am not sure what his deal was, but he was reporting according to reports. I am not sure he should be sent to some dangerous prison in El Salvador. I would like to learn more about his case. If he is just some hard working family man I definitely oppose get shipped to the prison.

The Judge said he can't be sent to El Salvador so fine. Go grab his a$$ and drop him off at Guantanamo until some other country agrees to take him. That's a short flight and he's back in a U.S. controlled area. How many Americans have been affected by his criminal activities?
