So clean & impressive that I had to turn around in my skiff, get my camera out and snap a few shots. Notice the heavier mast net-holding poles than what is normally seen around here on older shrimpers.
It was docked at an old dock to be torn down soon in front of the new Benny Hudson Seafood Restaurant which is about 300 yards off Skull Creek & ICW where the original Hudson's Seafood is still located.

Amen brother Bill. Thanks for sharing. Awesome.
And you're right, the boat itself is well constructed. Wish we knew who all they supplied.

As Forrest Gump once said, shrimping is tough.

Anyway, like I was sayin', shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that's about it.

It replaced his rebuilt old one that had a serious fire at the Hudson's dock, 8 or 9 years ago.
The Toomer family are legendary fisher folk around HHI and Bluffton. Their patriarch, Larry Toomer is the current Mayor of Bluffton. He rubs that boat, Daddy's Girls from his seafood business dock on the May River.

Thank you for the back story. God willing, I'll get down in the fall. Now you got me hungry. It's been almost a decade but we'd love to go down there and eat them oysters by the bushel... inspired me to start painting oyster shells. Nothing I could sell. 😆 just put in my shell garden. Days gone past. Thanks again LBB and bluff orangeman.

Thanks Bill, swimping has been tough on our swimpers for a long time. Nothing better than fresh swimps.

That’s awesome. I bought 3 lbs of fresh shrimp today in Georgetown at Georgetown seafood market to go in our low country boil tonight. Mad respect for all the shrimp boats out there. I’m not a big seafood guy but I love me some shrimp for sure.
