Another perspective

As many/all/some may know, my dad played football at Clemson and die hard till his last breath. I grew up fairly close to Clemson and spent many, many, many Saturdays on the hill and in section UR. I wasn't fortunate enough to go to Clemson as many of you, but I appreciate how everyone has always accepted me as one of their own...RHTig, Soccerkrzy, Lakebum, Aero, Willmo, Bengaline my dads teammates, just to name a few.

I understand the frustration that everyone has with the direction of the program and the town in general.

Let me tell you, its still Gods Country and its still Clemson.

Living in Raleigh for 12 years by Carter Finley, 4 years by Dowdy in Greenville and now living in the shadows of Michigan Stadium, CLEMSON IS CLEMSON.

Let there be no doubt that the town has changed and the team isn't what we got spoiled by in 15, 16, 17, 18....but we are still Clemson.

The atmosphere of gameday, the love that you get from strangers, the weather....the lake, the absolute thrill of The Hill, none of it can be replicated. I bring my son once a year and I will pay whatever it costs for him to experience the thrill of the cannon and the allure of the town. Complete strangers like Bengaline, Bruce and Lakebum offering up a tailgate spot for me and my son/family or even just a "welcome to Tiger Town" sign makes the trip worth every penny I spend.

We can all be frustrated by the corporate atmosphere of the town and games, but we have to realize, we all still have something EXTREMELY special. It's the people that make Clemson, not the town or the team, its the people.

I look forward to riding into TigerTown and showing my son (again) why it's the best place on earth.

We don't have to be accepting of crappy football and we can demand more as we should, but stop disparaging the town and team we love so much. Lets push for change, as we should, lets demand a better product, as we should, but lets stop the self loathing and ######## idea that Clemson is no longer Clemson.
