Today everybody has facial hair: mustache, beard, fuzz, etc. Almost all football players and coaches do. Yet, I’m noticing in tonight’s World Series game that none of them do- few anyway. Why?

Not really. The late George Steinbrenner implemented the rule MANY years ago.

Same. Except a soul patch and mustache in high school 30 something years ago. But, I have so much Cherokee in me I can’t grow anything at all anymore. It choked out the Greek/Irish power follicles. Plenty of hair on my head, just none on my face.

And has been for quite a while now. Wonder when it’s gonna go back to clean shaven being in. If you watch any show or celebrity from the 80s-90s, they were all super clean shaven. No hint of facial hair. While 60s-70s facial hair was more in.

My 20s to 30s huge beard. By mid 40s got a few grey hairs and now shave 3 to 4 times a week. I like the younger looking me 😀

Funny its the opposite for me. I shave my beard and I instantly look like an man that is ten years older than I am. My wife says if you keep your beard closely trimmed is makes you look solidly middle aged for longer even if there is gray in it. Her logic is that a clean and well trimmed beard strengthens your chin and makes you look more verile for longer. It the scraggly beard that throws age on people.

Have a beard, trim once a week to keep it shaped up for work. It is fantastic for myself. Hate to shave and to stay clean shaven I would need to shave 2 times a day.

It has to do with our all slob all the time culture. People show up at special events like wedding and funerals today looking like they just rolled out of bed. The unkept beard is an extension of that.

Started growing a beard about 4 months ago. Was having a problem with neck pain and pain in back of head and jaw. Won't go into details regarding only treatment that failed, so I am in constant pain with pain meds that don't help much. So, I quit shaving because it was painful to do. Let gray beard grow and when it got pretty full, I thinned it, shaped it and now keep it trimmed weekly. Sure beats trying to shave every day.

I’m a woman and there is absolutely NOTHING attractive about a man with a long scruffy beard. It’s gross. I can imagine all kinds of food stuck in there like peas and corn 😳. Then the comment about the bad teeth took me out. I personally don’t like much if any facial hair on a man but many women like it I guess. I know it must be a hassle to shave all the time.

Every girl I dated would not let me shave my beard, but at the same time, its not long. Just close to the face and well groomed. Apparently I look like a child when I go clean shaven.

I can grow a massive beard and when I let it go wild I look 60 yrs old, I’m 47 btw. So, now I keep it short and blended tight on the sides and my wife loves it. I get a ton of compliments too.
I shaved every day for 20+ years in the military and I freaking hate it.

I have had some degree of facial hair since I was 17. My wife and I met as freshmen at Clemson and she has never seen me without at least a mustache. We are in our 60s now.
