numbers and not rhetoric. I guess that's a good thing?

Markets are largely ignoring him now. They're just going to sit back and see the numbers from the BLS, which I hope he hasn't corrupted, but probably has.`

the labor market appears to be moving again after months of stagnation. I look at the postings from competitors, to see which markets are growing, what positions they are hiring, or any indication of the direction they may be taking within the industry. We tend to get hammered when interest rates are up for any extended period. Also, projects that have been on hold for the last few months are picking back up, and money seems to be moving again. Hopefully this is not a blip.

Imagine what happens when People’s Republic of China gets serious about writing off, piece by massive piece, their ~$23T of non-performing public real estate.

Ghost cities, that is. Vacant buildings. No people.

We can talk later about the looming crisis in Japanese sovereign debt / bond market Godzilla lurking behind Mt. Fujiyama.

These are THE factors that are most prominent as far as looming causations for global depression.
