Those were two of the more frustrating basketball losses I have witnessed over the last few years. So many close shots missed and getting dominated inside. Surprising Ga Tech can play like that and have such bad seasons back to back. But such is basketball I guess.

bad that this inexplicable loss means we've definitely been looking ahead and are LASER FOCUSED on beating Duke. Scheyer wont know what hit him.

5 losses this year. 3 are in OT. Gotta fix the end-game issues. Offensive sets with last possession are completely lacking.

And we had 2 timeouts that were not used in regulation both Memphis and GT losses. Draw up a play and drive to the basket not just launch a 3 pointer when we are tied!

Agreed. Drive and kick possibly. Ian had a good game last night but on too many occasions he had a good line to the basket after a solid entry pass and he passed the ball back out for a reset. Even happened fairly late in the shot clock a few times. Just as much as Chase, we need Ian to be that alpha. I know he is battling through injuries but he has still been very solid and needs to be that you for us.

Running a play through Scheff or even getting Wiggins involved.
And we don't even run a play for Chase, it's just all on him
to do something.
We are at our best when we play "team ball".
Need to also have a shooter on the floor like Heidbreder in
those situations. Not sure why he basically wasn't in during OT until 3 seconds left in 3rd OT.

It was beyond frustrating to see the repeated bad plays with the chance to win. I think we have also seen that in several other games in which chase just dribbles the clock out and jacks a 3. He is pretty talented going to the hole so it makes it twice as frustrating to keep seeing that. If Brad is totally leaving it up to him he really should have stepped in and said he wants him to drive it.

Exactly...last shot sets consisted of Chase standing there with the ball for a last second 3 when all it would've taken was a layup or a foul shot to win...I don't get it!

If he is going to shoot it at least go with 8 seconds instead of 3 to have a 2nd chance put back.

Not when we are tied...shooting with 8 seconds gives the opponent an opportunity to win. Last second shot is fine, but drive the basket at some point. Or, I don't know, maybe pass it to an open teammate? Run a play. Any play.

cant agree with that - too much history for Clemson and basketball in general to leave ANY time for other team in a tie game - that goes for halftime ending as well.
Chase HAS made big shots in such situations, but the evidence is mounting that he fails more than not IN THAT SCENARIO. I agree with our history he SHOULD henceforth be decoy on at least a COUPLE of the next such events, but moreso, send him a screen and or PLEASE (CHASE AND EVERYONE ELSE ON THE TEAM) learn how to use the glass so that you can create better angles whereever you are (even on wing threes) but especially on those mid range drives on either side
Final comment that being too busy last night and so far today has not been answered, was Del Jones hurt or sick last night? If so, then last night is explained. But if not, that will be at least the third loss (Memphis, Louisville, at least) where he should have been on court significant minutes matching his skills v these street ball level, guard led teams. He is every bit their equal and until I see otherwise, expect him to be at his best in those situations. Instead, he rarely sees the court
Hope it is not so, but if they don't give him more of the minutes he deserves, we may see HIM coming back in the coming years on that Ga Tech team looking to AGAIN beat us in OT
Good news is, as frustrating as these losses are; as little as we have improved in at least acting like we know how to boxout as a priority, we are in most games, have 3 OT losses now and just a bit more improvement (including better use of DEEP bench) and this team has a chance to equal or exceed any tourney run in school history

It was frustrating to me that we didn't get the ball inside more. They only played 5 guys in the second half and 3 overtime periods. Two of those guys played the end of the 1st half and all three overtime periods with 4 fouls! Neither fouled out!! We should have attacked and they either back off or we draw a foul. When Schieffelin got the ball inside in overtime he scored easily. But that only happened a couple of times. Also, the last play was a head shaker. I may just not have a clue about the x's and o's of basketball, but I can't for the life of me understand calling time out to put the ball back into Hunter's hands for that play.
Credit, however, to the George kid. That young man played a heck of a game.
