Detained for 20 hours without anyone knowing where she was or having access to a lawyer. School officials didn't know they were apprehending here.
The only pro Palestinian evidence she's ever had was co-authoring an editorial in support of Palestine in the school newspaper a year ago.
No criminal charges. No access to an attorney. Locked away anyway and on the road to deportation.
If you still think this was about taking care of illegal immigration, you're incredibly naive.

All I can find is that she wrote an opinion article that was pro Palestinian. Nowhere could I find she was pro Hamas. I’m on the side of disagreeing with this one. She is a green card holder and voiced an opinion. She has the same protections as American citizens according to the Supreme Court. If we are going to start deporting people solely in voicing their opinions this administration will begin losing my support.

Russian scientist working at Harvard was just detained the other day by ICE, and is in a hellhole down in Louisiana. No crime. Here legally. VISA has been revoked.
She voiced opposition to Putin & the war in Ukraine, and then fled Russia. Recently, made a paperwork error when filling out a customs form on a trip back from France related to her work. I guess they've revoked her VISA and will likely deport her. My guess is that if she's deported to Russia, she'll die in one of their prisons.
And another one, a German tourist, was detained in solitary confinement and is luckily out. Of course, we know the national security problems of a German tourist:

Trump sold himself as a guy who wanted to end illegal immigration. I don't think ghosting people who are here legally was part of what he was selling. Some of it is just turning paperwork errors into jail sentences. Some of it is going after people for speech. It's disgusting. And it was predictable.
Trump will eventually do this to citizens if he's able to get away with it. It will happen.

Some of this immigration crackdown stuff started under Biden back in 2024. There are people who get ghosted into ICE's privately-owned prisons and languish for months. The system itself is inhumane. But Trump is turbocharging it.

I was wrong on the green card thing. She was here on a student visa. Not sure what the law says about their legal protections.

Lester ... No, it's not someone being arrested. It's someone being disappeared.
When you are arrested, you are charged with committing a crime. You are taken to jail. You hire an attorney. You go before a judge who sets bail, and the case is settled in court.
In this case, you have broken no laws, but are abducted because people in power don't like something you have written. You are put on an airplane and wake up 1500 miles from where you were yesterday with no representation. This is only a temporary stop. Where you eventually wind up and whether any of your friends or family ever see you again is anyone's guess.
