both 3 star guys? I’m not sure if that means anything or not. And I am not trying to stir the pot. We have had lots of 3 stars that ended up as 5 stars….if they stay that long any more.

in fact, if there’s all these great players in the portal, and it makes programs greet, why not just fill the entire recruiting class with magic portal guys? The logic works ya know?

Next year's class has alot of time to see the rankings shuffle, I'd wager they end up 4 stars by the time they sign their LOI.

What is significant to me is not that they are 3 stars but early in the cycle offers who are committing. If we have scouted, evaluated and determined that they are the right "guy" then I am okay with whatever star rating they have. What I don't care for are offers made 6 weeks before the signing period because we are desperate to file a spot. Don't get me wrong Brown and Williams are fantastic but I question if Lawson, Sapp, Oliver, McCloud, Kelly ever contribute much.

ETN was a last minute recrui thanks to UGA RB Z White who I believe lead Dabo along. I believe quite possibly from UGA instructions. We ended besting UGA in that deal. I will take ETN over White every time.
The last minute recruitment of ETN reminded me of the late 80’s when Atlanta traded Doyle Alexander for an unknown minor league pitcher named John Smoltz. We all know how well both situations worked out.
Some times last minute recruits have worked out for us But I don’t see and understand that we have recruited down to fill a spot. I think that’s what happens when you are more selective. I am glad we don’t throw offers out to recruits like junk mail. A Clemson offer has a lot of meaning.
And if some fans would realize to much criticism of Dabo, his coaches, the players and the status of the program does have a negative affect on recruiting. So in some respects fans are partly to blame for missing out on some recruits.
By the way I am not a sunshine pumper. BUT I try to think logically and put life in perspective and stay positive about the program. Especially when the current success by HC Dabo Sweeney.

For those that bothered reading the Sammy Brown interview, then they would realize the players and recruits know what's going on with the fans.

we got ETN b/c Burton Burns (old RB coach under Bowden) wanted to take him at Bama and he didn't have a spot for him. Burns called Dabo and told him to offer him.
Burton Burns was an awesome RB coach..... And the RB coach before him Rich Bisaccia (ended up being a head coach in the NFL for a bit) was even better....
Rich would always tell the RBs in practice, "Be the hammer, not the nail" and he had guys like Preister, Smith, Austin, Whetherspoon, Chirchoo (misspelled), and TZach. It was always fun watching Rich and Burton with their position group.

If it's that important to you, they do have another year in high school to gain a 4th or 5th star. The only question should be, can they ball out?

to five star status today. David Eziomume, who is a four star prospect, was rated as the 108th overall player in his class the day he committed to us according to Rivals. Since then Rivals has dropped him 113 spots to 221 overall

Several 3 stars have eventually picked up that other 1 or 2 stars to make them 4 or 5 star players. The most important factor is can they develop into solid players or even top rated players like some of our 3 stars and walk ons have done.
I still trust in Dabo and his staffs evaluation of recruits.
I believe Clemson will hang an L around ND’s neck tomorrow. I am All In. IMO Dabo’s accomplishments has earned him that. We are going through some adversity which I felt would happen initially with the HCing changes and all of the crazy rule changes in college football.

Those are 2025 guys, the evaluation and ranking for a class that far out are a little different. Expect both to be 4 stars minimum by the time they’re the current signing class.

I never watched Keith but heard he was good and a first round nfl pick
