I read on here "my coot friend said". I don't have any coot friends. I work with them. I talk to them. I even go to lunch with one as part of a group, but I don't have any coot friends. Am I missing out on anything?

... tigers aren't really friends with each other either after youth. So, in human society, I suppose it's wise to publicly refer to those you must associate with as 'friends'.

I also must work with people that adorn themselves with cootwear n' talk down to my Clemson faithful self.

Referring to someone as your 'coot friend' seems like a contradiction in terms.
