So when my parents were sick, they didn’t have the money for treatment. So I paid for a lot of treatments on my credit card. Lots. Like $110k worth.
When they passed away my sisters turned a blind eye to it all. So here I am.
I have gotten 110k down to 28k and I am just exhausted. Like seriously exhausted. So I think I am just going to tell the wife about it and take out of savings and pay it off. We won’t even feel it at all. It’s out of a large savings account and it is what it is…but I can’t keep just doing this and the rate went from 12% to 19% overnight. It’s not like we don’t have the money it’s just that I have to own up that I haven’t told her about it.
So my ask of my internet friends is just pray that she is calm and doesn’t stab me with the new steak knives that Crump sent.

Pay that remaining $28k off quick. I trust you are doing well financially, and your wife trusts your decisions by being a continued breadwinner. Hope she doesn't give you grief. I had a big speculative stock loss, and my wife's reaction was 'welp, looks like you're working one year longer than you planned'.
Too bad you couldn't tie the link to the estate so the debt would have ended at life expiration.

I have been paying for about 5 years. I pay 1000 here or there and I made some good investments and paid off large portions at a time. We are well off so she never notices. I could keep it up but I don’t want to. I am exhausted with it all. I would rather just be on divorce watch than keep up the shuffling of money.

That said, if you have a healthy marriage, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Plus, now you know you can blow a hundred grand without the wife noticing. May come in handy if you ever need to pay hush money to a 19-year-old exotic dancer.

first, you da man for helping your parents. It is something you will never regret.
Second, amazing you already paid off so much of this debt and interest with no knowledge of wife. These are not small amounts to most people, and although not life changing, are amounts that most would consider very material to their life style.
I would guess you already know what her reaction will be.

I think I am just the oldest male who anyone cares about (my bro is a black sheep of the family.)
My dad passed when I was 20, hard times thru the years being without his advice. I still ask myself what would he do when I need to think hard about something. I ain't always right for sure. You got to make your own decisions but many times you already know the answer before you ask.

April. I daily pick up my phone to call them to tell them what's going on, get a few seconds of sad, then snap back to reality. I needed my Dad's advice pretty often recently, but just had to imagine what he would have done (or not done) then gone with it.

The why is on your side. If she doesn't want to already, she'll wanna drive your pick up truck through your family's front door. And family gatherings may or not be shot if not already....as the context I'm sure will come out too.

I explained it all and gave a detailed account with invoices and such. It was am “ok cool” type of moment. So all in all, she is either screwing another dude and doesn’t care anymore or she is the cool chick that I married and knows that we are all in this together.

the first place? I mean, if $28k is not a big deal financially, then $110k is something that would easily be weathered and done with in a year... instead, you have been paying exhorbitant interest and trying to hide it.
I had something similar with a tax move I made... that I was completely wrong about my understanding of the tax law and it cost in the similar ballpark range... I called my wife to tell her about it on the way home from the accountant.

got ruint by a hurricane and insurance gave her the middle finger on fixing it. I never told my wife because I didn't even think about it; I mean it didn't affect her other than being money that I earned and saved.
We had quite a discussion about that when I mentioned something about a few months later. I was kind of surprised at her reaction.
