Am I wrong in thinking the strength all along has been “recruiting” top kids to come play at Clemson, but that Watson and Lawrence were the freak “ready to play on day 1” recruits aka NFL caliber, while Cade and DJ were talented but in need of coaching that we just can’t provide?
DJ looked good, then actively got worse. Cade clearly still plays like a fresh freshman with the yips. We don’t have development coaches aka “coaches” - we have good salesmen.

I don’t think that’s a bad take. But it also makes you wonder why Kelly Bryant led us to a #1 seed without being elite. It’s all around. Not just Cade. But he is playing awful too

He had WRs and RBs, and a better line. Oh and the 2018 defense a year younger. He was also a great runner. He was also a much better QB than Cade.

Big difference. DJU was all over the place with his throws. Cade is pressing to make plays as the OL has no flipping clue. Both Cade and DJU had no WRs worth a dang to throw to. So..... back to the OL and WR woes...

You nailed it. The OL is being pushed back into Cade consistently and the pocket collapses quickly. As a former coach, you teach in pass blocking to create throwing lanes. The blocks should spread somewhat like spreading your fingers. Too often the line looks like a moving brick wall. Is some of it on Cade? Absolutely. If you look back at those plays where the ball was tipped, the tackles weren't much farther apart than they were at the snap. Terrible execution.
