But not a word about the other 5 who transfered out. They all have different reasons for leaving but are they not traitors too. None of these players are obligated to stay and if it's for maybe bettering your stock or more playing time it's all about the same. I don't like the portal either but seems like if we bash one we should bash them all no matter the team or the circumstance.

circumstances. Amick knew he was a sure starter, and already a star here, and still chose to kick us to the curb. THAT is why he is vilified far above the others.

DH or first base does not carry the stock for the draft that 3rd base would. Can he play 3rd well enough remains to be seen but he has that chance. The other players had a chance to work and improve and better their chances to be a productive player but they chose to take the easy road out by leaving..i really think that amick sees Tenn as a better option preparing for the draft by playing 3rd. Leaving because you don't want to put in the work to get better and play more is just as bad if not worse. They wanted playing time handed to them and when that didn't happen they took their ball and left. No reason for leaving is worse than another in my opinion..

Players in every sport transfer for a variety of reasons. Most of the time it is due to playing time, but kids have a million different reasons as to why they would transfer.
I do find it strange that we have 1 sport where the coach is blamed every time we have a transfer no matter the circumstances.

Who are the other 5 that left: what class and which other school have they chosen to play baseball for? Amick has chosen his own path. I wish him well and suspect he may have made an error.

Jay dill, Hogan Garner, Jack Reynolds, Gavin Abrams all left. Amick was the 5th. Garner committed to CofC I don't know where the others went but they left thru the portal

Garner did not play at all nor did Reynolds. Abrams had a pinch hit hr against SC and started a few games after that but it didn't last long. I think coach might have had a quick hook on some of the players and didn't give them a proper chance to prove themselves.
