The Tigers came out and warmed up in standard orange over white.
AND THEN, when they came off the busses at the top of the hill.... ORANGE BRICHES

1983 Maryland, my freshman year, the sky went dark that day. Back in the day, the cheerleaders used to hand out balloons to folks coming in gate 1. I remember as a kid holding on to that balloon until the tigers ran down the hill.

I didn't appreciate Jim, but I do now... I also miss Russ Cassel and Mike Gallager on the Tiger Tailgate Show along with Coach Howard's stories. Is it me or were they head and shoulders above today's show? Honestly I don't listen anymore.

don't know about Love but Hudson was on WCCP with Will Merrit for many years. He moved on with Merritt to Score Sports Radio on 103.1 in the upstate. Not sure if he is still with them now though.

no one listens anymore. Back then the Tiger Tailgate Show was the only way to hear about Clemson and other games. Today, everyone is tuned into ESPN game day.

that you almost expect to hear him again with the broadcasts....For the older Tigers don't forget the great CDA-sponsored dances on Friday and Saturday nights in the cafeteria. Probably would've been a riot on campus in those days with a night game causing a dance to be cancelled....Pep rallies with Tiger Band, Coach Howard, the team and cheerleaders in the amphitheater...Dates coming in from Winthrop, C-square, Converse, Lander, etc. with game day outfits, dresses and heels for dances, all of whom spent hours prepping for each event....Game signs hanging out windows throughout the tin cans....And even spontaneous renditions of the ole "Rat S..., Bat S..." cheer on the quadrangle before games! lol
