I'm prepared to get flamed for saying this

Dec 13, 2014, 8:34 PM

But I will be saddened to see Steve Spurrier retire from coaching, and specifically retire from this rivalry.

Now, before I go on let me just say that there is absolutely no comparison to beating a Spurrier-led coot team. NONE. It feels amazing to shut him the hell up on the field, especially considering his ego and sarcasm.

But that's just it. It feels better because Dabo and Spurrier are directly responsible for getting this rivalry sparked back to national relevance again (except for the 2014 coots, of course).

I love to talk trash about Otis, but I am a big enough college football fan to step back and admit that I will miss seeing him on the sideline whenever that time does come.

Thoughts?

Who is this Otis you are referring too?

@ Irmotig : they call Spurrier Otis for two reasons , one is that it goes nicely with his name in place of his given name Orr , but two because it is a reference to the town drunk on the Andy Griffith Show ...the guy that would lock himself up and sleep it off.

He and the Coots made my year by........

Dec 13, 2014, 8:39 PM

not only losing to us but by quitting like they did. Spurrier absolutely quit on his team and the team did likewise. It was amazing to watch. It was like a rivalry victory on steroids!

I won't miss him, his ego, or his sarcastic remarks at all. But, like you, it is a joy to whip his butt on the field.

Couldn't agree more

Dec 13, 2014, 8:43 PM

It will be great to send him out with a loss too. He has done a lot for the rivalry, he is a jerk, and so pompous that it only sweetens the victory even more.

I think he's evil and I'd #### on his grave if given the opportunity. Since you asked.

Skru Steve Spurrier and chicken he rode into Columbia on. I didn't like him when he was HC in Gainesville (and neither did any usuck fans) and I don't like him now. Skru all those moronic coot fans too...especially the ones on Tigernet who think they're so clever no one sees thru them

Agreed. I've watched

Dec 13, 2014, 8:48 PM

Coot game replay three times (last time was last night as the wife is away)now and I enjoy Spurrier's whiney look. I could not stand him before he became a Coot and will miss his whiney faces in all the upcoming Clemson victories.

You know what? I totally agree with you!! Want to kick his a$$ another two times But it's special when we do

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I was amazed at how his press conference was so give-upish &

Dec 13, 2014, 8:58 PM

gave so much credit to Clemson...even mentioning our name for about the 1st time in human history (as opposed to "that Upstate Team"). Haaaaaa! We've got him in our pocket Now..what with the loss, DabO recruiting bigger time, our Team finally looking "We Too Deep" and his impending age of 70 which spells "Retirement"!

GoTiGERs...Boom the Boomer Sooners!

I have mixed feelings about Spur. Basically you only like him when he is your coach. He definitely changed the football culture at SC; but he looks tired and frustrated. They have some problems to fix, and if they linger he could go out like Holtz (and that will not break any hearts over here).

Brad Brownell: more losses than any other coach in school history.

I get the sense that he would drink me under the table, but I would certainly do my best to keep par for the course with the Sack.

Gotta agree with the logic. I would love to beat him a couple more times. It's like finding a silver dollar in the bottom of a free beer. It's just more better beating him. :)

If Scar actually had even semi decent fans I wouldn't mind seeing them do well outside the rivalry but they don't, and I want them to lose every single game.

Who cares if the rivalry has national relevance, I would rather us be a 2 or 3 score favorite every year on our way to the ACC championship and possible playoff birth and them be fighting for a bowl bid.

We don't need the coots to be good.

Be careful what we ask for - 'cause if Spurrier leaves the sidelines, he might join LOUser Holtz on ESPN. Can you imagine the clucking they would do together? Whew! Nah - leave his sorry butt on the sidelines for a few more years and let us beat them 6-in-a-row, and then he can pass the reins to his son. Then we can kick his son around a few years and watch the dumpster fire that is USUC.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Loved beating him since his days at Duke and

Dec 13, 2014, 11:05 PM

he would bring them to DV. Sat right behind where he stood and he was the biggest crybaby. We gave him pure shiite the whole game. Never gets old seeing him lose.
