I would say Destruction mentality rules Tigernet. Some whiners claim they just have good old criticism to share but then go on in a way that sounds like they want to burn down the campus, plow Death Valley under, and salt Tillman Field like ancient Catherage. A losing season is what it is. We have had losing seasons at Clemson. And winning seasons. Dabo may or may not find a way to get the Tigers out of this downswing. Much will have to be evaluated by him and the admin at the end of the season. But the whiners advocation of large scale destruction of the program--including negativity about players we are recruiting, asking fans to not come to games or support Clemson, and a general negatively of all things Clemson has only happened once before when Ford was let go. It split the Clemson family for almost 25 years. We wandered hopelessly trying to capture our potential and magic again. My prayer is this does not happen again to Clemson and the Whiners dont get their wish for a wounded program. Go Tigers !!!!!

The Crown Isn’t Just Tarnished—It’s Commercialized
I hear the concern about “destruction mentality,” but let’s not confuse frustration with sabotage. What’s happening on Tigernet isn’t a call to salt the fields—it’s a reckoning with how the sport itself has mutated. This isn’t 1990. The soul of college football has been auctioned off to TV networks, collectives, and transfer portals. Fans aren’t just reacting to a losing season—they’re reacting to a system that feels rigged, hollowed out, and increasingly transactional.
Back in the day, a bad season meant licking wounds and defending the crown. Now? The crown’s been franchised. Loyalty is harder to sustain when the product feels less like a team and more like a brand. NIL, portal poaching, and conference cannibalism have turned fans into skeptics, not saboteurs. They’re not asking for destruction—they’re asking for accountability, clarity, and a doctrine that fits the new terrain.
And let’s not pretend this is just about wins and losses. It’s about institutional reflex. When fans see stubbornness in scheme, opacity in recruiting, and a refusal to adapt, they don’t see tradition—they see drift. The Ford-era split wasn’t just about emotion—it was about leadership failing to meet the moment. If we’re not careful, we’ll repeat that fracture not because of “whiners,” but because of institutional deafness.
So no, this isn’t ancient Carthage. It’s modern Clemson, trialing its doctrine in a sport that’s changed faster than its leadership has. The crown still matters—but it needs to be earned, not inherited.
Go Tigers. Trial the doctrine. Steward the crown.

A lot of fanciful language but still manure.

I've been playing with it to put out better post (see my disclaimer below). I put my talking points in and I'm constantly revising it as I work through. It's a work in progress
