My pitch to R. Gary

Come play beside Christian Wilkins and Lawrence. Initially thought Gary was too big for DE, but after watching his film..
Man, is he fast.

He raved about playing with all the talent on his UA All American team. We are one of the few schools who can give him a line that will be as talented as that one. Too many stars to double them all. Should be a strong pitch.

I would make him a DE from day one..he is so quick off the ball and would be a beast to try and contain.

Absolutely. He can move around as well. That would cause all kinds of headaches. Very versatile.

He's not some 300lb fatbody guy either. He looks like a DE that happens to be a DT. After watching him obliterate the nation's best offensive tackles in UA game, there's no doubt he can play DE for us. He's instantly in our 2 deep at end.

start him out as an SDE and then move him to 3-tech in 2017 after Carlos Watkins graduates. 2017 DTs would be a rotation of Wilkins and Gary at 3-tech and Lawrence and Pagano (assuming he doesn't go pro) at NT.

Every starting defensive end under Dabo except one has or will be drafted, and that one is currently earning and NFL paycheck.
Phillip Merling: 2nd round pick Ricky Sapp: 5th round pick Daquan Bowers: 2nd round pick Andre Branch: 2nd round pick Malliciah Goodman: 4th round pick Vic Beasley: 1st round pick Corey Crawford: undrafted (Redskins practice squad) Kevin Dodd: Projected 1st round pick Shaq Lawson: Projected 1st round pick

The starting DTs have done pretty well too

Jarvis Jenkins, Brandon Thompson, Darell Scott, Grady Jarrett, and Deshawn Williams have all been on active rosters at some point this year, and Josh Watson was one of Denver's final cuts.
Even Rennie Moore had a shot at Houston right after he graduated (although I think they moved him to LB).

If it's his Mom's decision, we are in great shape. There is not a better environment for success as a person and as a player than we provide at Clemson. Absolutely no better program and leadership than Clemson and our staff.
